Default Stock Rods & Turbo...

I'm going to have ZPI do the build up on my block and I'm basicly trying to decided whether I want the stage1 (pistons, bearings, rings etc.) or stage 2 block. The difference being the connecting rods (w/ bearings) and a balanced knife edged macined crank. What I ask of you guys is whether or not the stock rods can take the 10-12psi I want to boost. I'm leaning towards doing the rods because of the fatigue factor. They might hold up for now but I'm hoping for some good life out of this engine. It's something like $2700 for the stage 1, another $800 if I just want to add the rods, or $4000 for the whole stage 2. I spoke with Sean form ZPI on this and he said the stock rods should be fine under 400whp. Thanks for any info.

Actually, properly prepped tC rods should be good for 500 CHP. Therefore to answer your question, they would be perfectly fine at 10-12 psi.

ZPI knows there $hit.. But if you have the money to do it all, why not just get it done right the first time and while it is there.. I say do it and save yourself from having worry to about it later...
