Depends on how good of a driver. A stock sc tc is just bairly faster than an si, but loads more torque. A slightly modified sc setup will blow the doors of a new si, I have done it many times hehe.

in essence, yes...ur car will have more horsepower at the wheels and at the crank than the Si. Faster? Like Garage said, it's all in the driver

#1 please post this type of thing in forced induction from now on, as supercharger is well... anyway!

#2 remember that by adding a supercharger you will HAVE a fi setup, against a naturally aspirated SI. So the ceiling is lower on the tc. if you are starting an arms race with a friend that has an SI, you are going to lose. However, until the 07 class of tCs came out, you were also the same price to add the blower as to by JUST an SI itself

Hate to nay-say, but Ive seen some videos of the Si going neck to neck with a scTc and even pulling ahead at the end. I think of course driver, but also LSD, closer gears and an 8k redline. For the price the cars are roughly the same, as one could get a Tc sc'd for about the same price as the Si.

Thoughts.

Ive heard rumors that ZPI or someone is making a 6 speed LSD setup for the Tc, hope that comes out sometime (if at all).

I'll put a link up later. But they tested 4 cars. The cobalt, s/c tC, civic SI, and the New Jetta GTi.

The civic SI had the slowest acceleration out of them all, The tC was in last place largely do to its suspension

bleh well unfortunately i can't seem to get the link up. but you can find it in you tube. Search Scion tC and its like on page 9

CarTV comparison

plus u kinda have to look at the fact the tC doesnt offer trim levels......you have everything from ls to ss on the cobalt, like 4 different civic trims, and the JETTA GTI is the best jetta u can get from the factory.....

aside from price wise, its at a small disadvantage just do to that....no luxury or performance categories

i think u guys are missing the whole point of the question...he wanted to know if supercharging the tC would make it faster than the Si (or have more hp) . Of course the stock tC would get beat by the Si, but not the supercharged tC...unless it's a really bad driver

i dont think we are missing the point... you and garage answered the question before... some topics just stray to encompass MORE than the original question asked... i was just adding another layer of information cuz the question was a little bit of a "newb" one... just trying to give a little more than asked

They did comparison in a magazine a while ago. The Si came on top of the SC tC. With an LSD and a SC I would say the tC and Si are dead even in a straight line, if not a slight edge to the tC. But on a circuit, a tC with a SC + LSD would blow the doors off the Si.

Just Turbo the tC and spend less money and beat the Si without a doubt in any world... But... moving to FI anyways....

that same comparison showed they also pulled a 0-60 in 7.2 seconds...which is STOCK acceleration times, and only a 15.1 in the 1/4. obviously NOT the best driver in the world.

If you know how to drive then yes I think the S/C'd tC would take the SI. Like desertheat side if it were slightly modified there is no question the tC would come out on top.

I already race an 06 SI like two months ago. when I was coming home from work. the guy started with my by reving up his engine at the red light. I said lets go. I beat him and all he did was smile at me and pulled down his window and said nice race. I already said this on an old forum. I wish I had the race on video. People have to Realize that drivers win races not the cars.

You'll be able to take a SI and even a RSX-s with a Supecharged tC. Heck I took a 2001 Prelude VTEC rated at 200 HP with my Supercharged tC. Never raced a Si or RSX-s before...i want to though.

those preludes are way heavier then the type s or new si. the type s is actually a little slower then the new si becuase the si has an LSD. a new SI with i/h/e would be a very close race with a s/c tc.
