Default supercharger noises?

I have a 2005 tc and i have just recently purchased from a dealership all the supercharger, pulley, exhaust, and forge bpv has only been on for about 5k miles give or take. When i went and test drove the car at idle i heard a ticking i just from the bpv and the supercharger itself rattled until you gave it some gas is that normal? Well last night as i was on the way home from a friends house i started hearing wierd noises. It almost sounded like a clutch fan but it was in the s/c its like you cant hear the whistling sound anymore all you hear is this humming sound does anyones know what this could be

do not drive your car! From the sound of it, it is most likely the bearings that have gone bad...an all too common problem with the supercharger. If you live in so cal, i have a solution on how to solve it if the person is willing and available...but if not, you should check around your local tuner shops because the dealers do not know how to replace this and will tell you that you need to get a new one. Now, if your warranty is still intact, they should replace it for free...hope you don't have any other mods done to the supercharger or engine that didn't come with the supercharger kit (exhaust excluded) because then the warranty is no good! either way, get it checked immediately as i too have had this problem once

^My s/c seems to have gotten a little higher pitched at idle, and a little louder. Did this happen to yours?

Take off that forge BPV and any kind of intake you have, return it to stock and wheel it into toyota. How many miles total do you have on your car?

yeah, tampering with the bpv automatically voids your warranty.

oh, and so does the pulley changing, you have pretty much no warranty unless you can get it back sto stock.

now really, you've had the supercharger for 5 thousand miles, you shoulda kinda gotten used to what was normal and what isn't over that time.

You probably just broke a mounting bracket. Or its just the BPV fluttering. I can get mine to do it all the damn time when I just barely hit the gas or im in reverse

I have about 21,000 miles on the car and the s/c has been on for about 1,000. It seems to run fine, still feels strong. Just has a highter pitch to it it seems. IDK, maybe its my imagination...

Do you have a sound clip ? as for the high pitched wine it is normal, mine got even louder with a cai. The s/c does chatter more so in the cold too

I might be having the same thing going on. S/C'ed for 5K miles... I can hear it mostly in 3/4/5 gear. When I give it a little more gas than coasting, it makes a whirring sound... hard to explain. Almost the same sound as when the ground is wet and spraying your fenders, but I'm pretty sure it is from the supercharger. I'm not sure if I should be paranoid or not. Is this what is going on with yours? I'm pretty sure that the sound has just developed in the last 300 miles.

^ I have a smilar noise, it only happens when its about 35 degrees out and I have made more than 10psi of boost. Check your oil. I got mine changed and the sound went away after that. Now if only I could get this NEW belt to stop squeaking I would be set.....

what bearing are you talking about? is it the pulley side? i have a rattling from the pulley side of the s/c and it is getting pretty bad. im in the process of getting new bearing unit from trdsparks and hope that would fix the rattle. whan i have the 7psi it was doing that and now at 9.5 psi it has gotten worst. i think the bearing is done . please tell us if there are othe bearings we should be aware of. thanks

Mine is making a very loud squealing noise at about 4000 rpms. It sounds like it is coming from the pulley side bearing. It is still under warranty so I’m going to bring it in next week.

ok greenbox from this forum told me to get a new bearing from "AUTOZONE PRT # IS90099-10091 THOSE ARE FOR THE BEARINGS FOR THE PULLEY AND THE ONES INSIDE THE CHARGER AREPTR01-21054"

went there and they cant seem to locate it. i was just wondering if anyone else out there that can locate the part. thanks for all the help.
