helpful info guys!

Leave the cat out. Dont replace it. Get a catch can! I mounted mine on the side of my battery. If you look in my gallery you can see it.

so you just check this can every once in a while and make sure it isnt full?

EDIT: looking at the site you provided on your writeup, i just pick up a stage 1 dc3, no options, correct?

i just did the installation and it went... good and bad. bad because it didnt work until i undid some of the work. the piping in the walkthrough was too small for the new specifications of the dc3, but thats my fault for not checking ahead of time.

anyway other than that, we'll see how it works!

I ended up ordering my DC3 with custom properly sized NPT threaded 90deg brass barbs rather than the standard fully welded nipples.

yes great idea for anyone's future reference! the 5/16" piping was just way too small and the engine started sputtering and shut off. fun fun. haha

^ You can run a catch can or two on an n/a, turbo or sc car with the same benefits.

Saikou Michi Co.

http://saikoumichi.com/product_line.html

If you get the DC3 dual can, custom order it with 3/8" (pcv) and 5/8" (breather) barbed brass 90deg elbow fittings. Mention my name (Eric) and that it's for a supercharged Scion tC when you order it and he'll know what you're looking for.

If you get a single can just for the breather get 5/8ths brass barbs or the standard 5/8ths welded nipples

...and this is why the Saikou Michi Co. catch cans are better than the other brands...
http://saikoumichi.com/OCC_explanation.htm

Actual car nipple dimensions: (thanks jetlounge)
- pcv out from mani is 3/8"
- pcv in to intake is 1/2"

- breather in/out is 5/8"

There's a large open space below the battery.

He offers it powder coated in any color and raw aluminum. I'm sure with a little elbow grease you could polish the raw alu.

Right on.
You could go with the Split DC3 and the custom barbs. Might be a little easier to fit them. Each can is not that much bigger than a soda can.

it wasnt a bad install. just make sure you have the right size tubes. do it, its worth the peace of mind.

only thing im not going to like is disconnecting it and cleaning it out every 6 months. i dont even know how/with what.
