Default supercharger question

i am looking into buying a Supercharger. i have an 07 automatic, and i know it is possible to buy the 05-06 setup. i have an aftermarket header so that takes care of one problem. my question is. do i need to do something to the MAF sensor?

yeah a turbo'd auto would be nice, but at the same time ur tranny wont last long at all...

the only thing about S/C is that they also have alot of problems (from what ive heard) and now they have been discontinued...

go get a Unichip and get it tuned =D

forget these peps. go s/c. i heard all u do is use ur stock air box lid and ull be good on the maf. but if u do go s/c u might not have problems for a while but just save money for in the long run when it does go out to buy new bearings, seal, and shaft. all this is still cheaper then turbo. not dissing turbos but when ur auto turbo is not the way to go. my friend just turbo his auto and blew his headgasket and 4th gear. not to mention he cant shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd while under boost.

uhh biggest issue is going to be the tune. The 05-06 tune is not compatible with 07+, and vise-versa.

40 hp? Run a better engine managment, intake, different sized pulley 9.5psi or better and different injectors and such. u can be at about 220/230

stock is 145 on a dyno. so figure thats 90/100 horse more with better managment ofcourse

The problem with S/C'er isn't an opinion based comment. People comment based on the on going data/experience on here. And when you S/C your Auto, it's a bit of a heart break to spend all that money, and can't even beat a 5spd tC with basic bolt-ons. The S/C'er is only worth it if you buy it used. Spending $3k bucks or anywhere near that much for it, you are wasting your money. And there are plenty of turbo Auto tC's on here with decent power (more than a S/C'er is going to give you), and they run just fine. You just have to do the recommended tranny mods to support your power (tranny cooler).

And you just voided the warranty with everything you just mentioned, so what's the point? Stock Manual is 145 on the dyno, stock Auto is more like 120.

yeah that only 40hp is bs. stock 5spd. tc dyno 135-140whp. and a stock 5spd s/c dyno's 190-200whp. and a tc with the s/c at 9.5psi. header full exhuast, intake and light crank pulley and upgaeded bpv (to hold the boost becouse the stock one sucks)can dyno 230-240whp all on dyno dynamics dyno's so where's that only 40hp come from

when going f/i. why cry warranty thats just dumb. if you want warranty leave the car alone and drive it. if you mod the car to hell and back. and picked up 2 sec. in the quarter mile warranty should be the last of your worries. if you break somthing YOU fix it. dont try to make the dealer pay/fix for what you break becouse your having fun with your car

Your numbers are off. It does not dyno that high on a dyno dynamics.

Stock 5spd 140whp Dynojet, add 3k dollar S/C'er only to it is 200whp Dynojet. 200 - 140 = 60whp gain. Not enough still for $3k dollars compared to being able to purchase a $3k dollar turbo kit and gaining 100+whp.

Again, adding those components to the S/C'er will void the warranty. And isn't warranty the whole reason people give for even buying the S/C'er?

That IS my point dude. If you going F/I turbo > S/C'er. So why the hell would you pay just as much for LESS?

It's apparent you are new to this section and don't know me very well....hehee. I'm one of the oldest tC's (if not THE oldest) in here that's been boosted. Not oldest in age, but oldest in terms of who has been boosted the longest on these forums.
