Just LMK

GammaTNT 08-08-2008 06:39 AM

Kikcaffine, i just got your bearings and seal installed by Ptuning.
Thank you again

kikcaffine 08-08-2008 12:09 PM

^ How do you like it?

GammaTNT 08-08-2008 12:48 PM

it made me love my tc again!!!
The bearing does sound little different from the stock, because it is made with different material.
I only can hear it with the hood open. It is very quite when i am driving. It sounds like i have a new SC
Ptuning gave me back the old bearings. One of the bearing was in pieces. That was the cause of the sc whining.
I have to thank Ptuning for excellent job and they also fixed my AC wires. The SC metal bracket near the pulley cut into the wires and blown a fuse.

Cool beans. Ptuning rocks!

i cross referenced the part numbers from the picture in page 1.

based on my data, i don't see how you are getting a spec of 100k rpm. can you explain this, or provide a full spec sheet on these items?

Where is your data from? Its due to the build tolerances of the bearings. The different cage material mated with the ceramic balls.

 you said Ceramic Balls :P

jetlounge 08-08-2008 09:50 PM

from SKF. Those part numbers on the boxes in the first page don't jive with 100k...and 6205-J doesn't jive to ceramic.

Plus just asking..but bearings come with a lot more spec data than rpm. if you could share that it would be helpful...thrust, load , abec rating...you should have a spec sheet.

kikcaffine 08-09-2008 03:45 AM

They are custom made so I dont have that information. The only thing that those part numbers are for is the size. There is nothing else about them stock.

equinox2355 08-09-2008 03:57 AM

Oddly enough my S/C is fine, but I may buy your rebuild kit soon since I only recently (within the past few months) upgraded to 9.5lb pulley and would hate to have a S/C failure

well, you can ask your bearing guy for those specs. I would be interested in the kit, but without having specs, its hard for me to rely on an anonymous post on the internet stating these rate at 100k. not knowing thrust load, full ceramic, hybrid, abec?

i am sure you can appreciate at this price and for an application with such tight tolerances, specs are important. any other manufacturer would provide, your guy should too.

InfiniteVisi0n 08-09-2008 02:36 PM

cool

kikcaffine 09-04-2008 09:18 PM

Bump.

goodguy889 09-26-2008 07:05 PM

can we get a diy. i heard theres one floatin around but i cant find it.

blitztc06 10-24-2008 03:01 AM

im buying a used s/c, would you recommend doin this before installing so i dont get an early failure after installing, how many miles could this rebuild go through on a DD with header back exhaust, 9.5 pulley, CAI, uni tune?

yes you should get it done. There are many bearing places on the southside of chicago that will press them in for you. Make sure to tell kik to give you the metal sealed baarings for the pulley side.
