Default "system too rich" fixed*UPDATE*

well yesterday i installed trd injectors and every since ive been throwing system too rich, when i read the freeze frame data it tells me that the check engine light or DTC was triggered around the 700 roms area, and at 1mph and in closed loop.

MY THOUGHTS.

i have a bov thats not recirculating.....every time i come to a stop the air fuel goes to like 10...

maybe a boost leak but i would have gotten the code before the injector install..

personally i really wouldnt mind this code if it didnt cause my check engine to blind me hahaha...

MY possible solution..

recirculate the bov and tighten couplers if loose(i do this ever 2 days and none are ever loose)

MY LAST RESORT PLAN.

- live with the check engine light put electical tape behind the dash, and buy a scan gauge and ever time i start car check for codes that might be lingering

UPDATE!!!!!

i changed to blow-thru maf
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

looks like theprob was with the bov

your fuel trims are off....there is nothing you can do about it pretty much unless the safc can tune idle and normal driving.

im just guessing since i havnt had the pleasure using the safc but you swapped out to larger injectors and i suspect the safc cant tune idle therfore the ecu is left up to trying to correct the afrs all by itself. your ecu is pulling quit a bit of fuel in order to get the afr's to 14.7. fuel trims are way off and thats the reason for the code.

i would agree with you there BUT scion fred is running 440cc and stock ecu and no code for him(hes recirculating)

ill try recircualting bov first and if not then ill just live with it..

btw SAFC CAN tune idle and partial throtle but u have to run a return fuel setup in order to not throw a check engine light for other reasons

in that case i would say play with the safc a bit more and get something to watch fuel trims...the reason for the code is straight forward fuel trims are off. however the reason for those fuel trims being off could be many things but tuning is the best solution.

so it doesn't wire into the o2 at all....then it cannot tune idle and cruise without having massive fuel trim corrections. the o2 sensor is the big _____ you have to fool in order to get those fuel trims right.

you can have i think up to +/- 20 long term corrections without a code. it depends on how much your ecu has to adjust. scangauge is a must!!!

im not 100% sure on the figure cause i dont let it get that far...i tune as close as i can to 0.

what you can do i think is tune the safc to take fuel away at idle in order to keep the fuel trims down. you should be able to aleast do that with the safc.

yes thank you now time to check for leaks and re-tune since it made me run richer in boost 11.6 as opposed to my 12.2-12.0 tune

My IC pipes are going to be blow thru MAF so that will be nice! No recurcing the BOV and the car should run better too since the MAF is gettign correct readings.

Haha, yea, getting tuned is so worth it. I thought my car was running fine on the street tune, then I said F it and got tuned and it was a night/day difference.
