tapping oil pan q's

tapping oil pan for oil return on a turbo, where should the tap be approx from the top of the pan? and should i weld the return or just tap and dye it?

im tapping for a greddy kit if that makes a difference.

tap it as high as possible, most tap it in front and maybe the only best way to do it.. welding will make it more reliable and leak free

If you don't have access to a welder, you can brilo the area around the fitting and use some JB Weld.. it works wonders.

I've actually fixed a decent sized crack on an engine block before with it.
