Tapping turbo to install Boost controller?
I went to my shop today they were installing my truboost.. they said they had to tap into the turbo to install it does that make any sense to anyone? i have the dezod s1 kit and hes like the turbo didnt come tapped or something..
i thought the control solenoid just goes inbetween the vacuum and the wastegate connection??
what am i missing here

^^ yeah you can do that on the compressor side as what todd said! no need to do it on the turbo though, you can still get a good reading from another vacuum source like your brake booster or throttle body.. I think they are following the instruction on the truboost, some turbo have ports compressor for boost reading..
make sure they tap it right or in a good location..

the only way to do it is the compressor side? lol, if they know what they are doing they should only tap on the compressor side, its where the turbo build boost that goes into the intake manifold/vacumm source
^^ he tapped it right on the compressor outlet..
in my opinion/preference, i want to use/ tap a vacuum source closest to the manifold as much as possible (like brake booster, throttle body) that way its the closest boost reading that is actually forcing air into the cylinder.. if you get leaks after the tap on the turbo compressor (like on the couplers, intercooler, bov, pipes) then your actually manifold pressure might be slightly lesser than your turbo compressor reading

Most compressor housings have a spot cast into them for the "tap".
But your shop didn't need to do this.....
Granted its their decision but it wasn't necessary to make the controller work.
The wg has two ports for a reason

ya they tapped into an intercooler piping for it... idk why..
anyway does the TRUBOOST come so it can read boost aswell as be a controller .. there trying to tell me that i needed to by an extra wire or harness thingy so it would read boost.. my main reasoning on buying it was to replace the boost gauge..
