Default Thoughts on Custom t/c kit from the big guys

So my s/c blew on me and was damaged upon removal of the speed rated bearings so now I am going to build a custom turbo kit. This is what I was going to start with:

Megan Racing Manifold / Down pipe ( I am pretty much set on these 2 due to the price)
A garrett t3 to4e 50 trim .63 a/r 4 bolt discharged (to match the down pipe)
Tial 38mm external wastegate.

I have the trd injectors from the s/c and oil feed and return line which I will try to use again. How much boost could I run on the stock n/a ecu with the bigger injectors ? (selling the trd fashes ecu)

I will eventualy add a aem fc/i and meth injection, I just cant afford it since I wasn't able to sell my s/c.

The problem with the N/A ecu is that it cant handle those bigger injectors! so you probably need to wait until you have some kind of management because your going to have to pull fuel with those bigger injectors for ordinary driving until you hit boost, then you would need to add fuel. The stock ecu would try to maintain stoich. and lose its mind with the fuel trims..

The speed rated bearings went, the speed rated ones that hold the impeller. I will do a full write up with pics when I get enough time.

I like the turbo that you are choosing, most SRT-4 owners choose that same spec turbo over GT30, or a 60-1. I wouldnt change it at all.

So how would a 57 trim t3/t4 .63 ar spool up with a megan manifold ? how much more lag would there be compared to a 50 trim ?

i have a t3/t04 e 57trim .63 ar with my turbo toyotas kit and considering the megan manifold is "almost equal lenght" im gonna say that it spools similar to mine. my turbo has a slight lag when i slam the pedal but once i hit about 3400 rpms then it spools super quick and loud!

How many psi are you boosting ? 3400 rpm I wonder how the trd flashed ecu would work with it ? the s/c would start to boost around 3k and it would begin to add fuel.

im running 8 psi. and am probably around 320-340 whp. final dyno will be coming up soon. but yeah im not sure how that would work, but seems like the principle is there. im sure it wouldnt run well though. my thoughts are engine management and new injectors. btw im running 550cc injectors.

Yeah I figured it would be easier to start from.

I'm only going to run around 5-6 psi for now until I put together a good meth injection setup.

well that meth injection is good if you plan on running higher psi because doesnt that just raise the octane to around 103? kinda like race fuel? i could be wrong though. is it because you plan on running only 5-6 psi NON-intercooled?

I was thinking just to be safe, for raising the octane it depends on the mix you run.

60-1 turbo spools just fine with my log style manifold haha

tho at higher boost levels, 13+ it does spool a LITTLE slower

Yeah I'll probably stick with a 50 trim I want get a little more low end power than the s/c was. Hey Bryan06tc do you have any pics ? sorry didn't pm you back I've been busy parting out my s/c stuff.

HI!
my turbo is a 54trim, .63ar and the spool is fine...right around 3200 on my EL mani.
I think with the SC injectors (what are they, like 380cc or 420cc?) you should be OK with no manageemnt on low boost, like 5psi.

And yeah, we got maps comming out the a$$ for the f/ic! you will have to do some adjustments, but it's pretty easy to add/pull fuel.
