Default transmission issue on 341.1 whp 301 ft lb???

O.K., my car runs flawless and i replaced the stock clutch to an exedy stage two upon advice from ptuning since thats what they run. With that said i have noticed that in fifth gear at about 80 mph 2800-3000 rpm range, when i go wot, my car builds boost, rpms rise; however the car stays stationary at 80 mph, gradually just coasting. I replaced the clutch to exedy thinking i was making too much power for the clutch, well i know i was anyways, what do i look into next?, axles??, what transfers power from our transmissions to the wheels?, is it possible my issue lies there??. with all of that said, im on a pretty good power curve, gradually making hp through the rpm range and making the bulk of my hp at the top of my rpm range.

printout of power band, ending at 341.1 to the wheels

3 grand in fourth and third do not have this issue, so what you said spelled out is - this is to be expected in 5th gear at 3 grand??

and keep in mind man, the car is doing NOTHING, no power is being transferred, that just doesnt seem run of the mill to me. I build all the way up to 11 psi and the rpms rise, but nothing happens, the car just coasts...so your saying this is normal??

i ment ranger. not brett.

its a really weird case it sounds like you have a defective clutch but i don't understand how it could do this and hold in other gears.

i have a similar problem in 4th except i move a little still.

why not pull the end cover off to make sure nothing is wrong with 5th?

if that ends up being what the general thought is within this thread i will have that done, it sucks cause any time i need any type of work done it has to go to my shop, cause i dont have the room or tools to get the job done...next time i deploy or go tdy i may just have my shop crack it and take a look to be safe....im just mad confused.

so you can hold your foot to the floor in fifth, build 11 psi, have the rpms hit the rev limiter, and your car will stay at 80 mph???

i get too worried to let it run to redline, it gets to the point where i see the gauge read 11 psi, and i get out of the throttle.

make a video of what you are talking about with your phone. you may just be letting out before you start to get in your powerband. 5th is an overdrive gear so it will lag. try to stay in it till redline, and hold the phone back enough so that we can see the tach and speedo. if there is something wrong with 5th gear it will show on the video as well.

if your revs are rising and your speedo is not... its either the clutch or something in your 5th gear... pay attention to speed @ 3k to 6k... if your not accelerating then its clutch or 5th gear related.
