Trd Reflash + intake = lean?
i have been reading some threads on here and a couple in other forums. the issue of running lean by running an intake on a trd reflashed has surfaced but never really explained or discussed in details.
i know of one person that made this claim and everyone else seems to follow him. But i want to make sure that it is true.. what is your take in this? I am going to be buying a SRi for my SCed tc.
There are many people on here who ran/are running intake and 9.5 pulley and were getting good A/F readings(it will vary depending on where you live, exp: temps & elevation), the best thing would be to have an A/F gauge installed before you do it, that way you can monitor it as you upgrade, the reason it seems to be ok is because the TRD re-flash tends to be a bit rich so adding a little more air does not hurt ti too much; good luck and hope that helps.

Remember that not everybody has had the same experience so what would be best for you is to get an A/F gauge installed just to be on the safe side, hope that helps.

The air flow was calculated based upon stock air box and it's restrictions, so if you added airflow, you then altered that equation, which means in theory it will be leaner. The system may not throw a code for it, but it will undoubtedly alter the fuel trims all together.
part throttle, define part throttle 10%? 30%? 50%?
3/4 throttle seems a touch lean for what will preserve the cat and run well on this car and not have a huge propensity to knock
Like I said this is looking at the gauge while driving. Numbers aren't going to exact like a computerized afr graph since they change so much.
Ill see if I can get some more numbers in the next few days.
