TRD S/C intake question

i dont think so but then again im not a supercharger owner...but i dont see any reason or point to have to REFLASH the ecu just because you got an intake for your supercharger. i think you will be okay if u just throw it on there

with just a SC intake?
You will be OK with just an intake with the SC, you will just be running a little leaner than you were without it. The motor should be able to handle it. You won't need a piggyback unit or EMS for something so subtle.

The motor should never run lean at all. No matter how subtle it is, the engine might handle it, but eventually it could cause enough wear to damage something. Rod, piston, etc. Wouldn't risk it, at least if you're still under warrenty. Apparently any aftermarket intake installed with the s/c will void the s/c warrenty anyway, whether it says it works with the s/c or not. . .

Ok - here are the facts. With the TRD s/c you 100% want to get the flash. Do not drive the car w/o getting the ecu flashed while the s/c is getting installed.
Second - there is no s/c intake out becides making a custom one or the MMW one. I have a custom intake - look at the picture in my profile. The one i have has a mount comming out of the filter. Do not cut a normal intake and slap it on your s/c setup. you need a custom mount so the filter isnt just handing there.
the air/fuel from what i hear leans out a tad more w/ the new intake but you do not need a piggyback. I will be able to show the dyno results within the next few months ....stay tuned. I will make my own thread when the time comes.

I run a methanol setup and rarely keep the engine at high rpms without being in boost. With the TRD map you either want to be at high rpms boosted (so it dumps fuel) or lower rpms at a constant rate.
