trd sc just came in today
its okay i like it. the throttle response quicker now. once my warranty ends ima start modding it. ima see how long before i start noticing problems. if problems occur early then ima leave to stock and just keep claiming warranty
yo, should come out to our tc meets, we just had one tonight. check us out on forumshawaii or pm me or java09 for info if your not on FH. as for the throttle response, i know how you feel. i used to be turbo'd so when i drove someone else's' sc'd tc, i loved the throttle response compared to all the turbo tc's i've driven (which is 5 and counting, haha)
I've mess around with TRD parts before giving to the dealer. They never bit*h about it.
I've been thinking about doing it. I want to be careful with auto tranny. But 3,500 & that rod problem? IDK...
You know what would be fun to do...Since my dealer tried to rip me off for new rear brake rotors & pads two weeks ago? I walk in and order with parts. Then come back in and pick it up. Let my GM tech friend install it for me LOL I would easily screw them least 800.00s.
Its logic that it doesn't take 8 hours to install. Turbonetics kit takes 8 hours but S/C, come on now.

See the great thing about letting my GM tech friend do it? He'll let me sit on the sidelines and watch him install it. How many dealer techs would allow that? Plus, I know for sure he'll find other ways to make the S/C more interesting.
so i just installed my boost guage today anyone know wat the psi is suppose when u start the car, i think i got a leak. when i start the car its at -20 and it bounces around -19 to -20 should this be steady? and wat psi should it be at when idle
when you are idling your car is not in boost, so you wont have any PSI, you have vacuum, which explains why youre sitting at -20.
you wont see boost untill you stomp that sucker!

is it suppose to be at -20 or a different number cause the t splitter that came with the boost guage was to small. i just zip tied it like crazy. when im at 4000 or 5000 rpm and drive steady the psi seems to go down is that wat its suppose to do or should the psi be steady at a number when in boost. anyways whenever i wake up im heading to checkers get another t spillter and replacing the one that came with
if your driving steady then the boost guage should be steady as well, sounds like you do have a boost leak
also, what is you max PSI when pushing to redline, the TRD/bosch bypass valve is known for not holding max boost too well

the stock bosh 102 bpv is junk and will leak boost but even with the upgrade bosh 110 bpv wich i got you can go all the way to redline and never see boost it all depends on engine load , rpm and thorrtle position
at 5000rpm and 1/2 thorrtle you should not see boost or vac. it should be at 0
at 5000rpm and floored you should see 4-6psi and should keep raisin till 7psi at redline
