sc is more harsh on an engine. Immediately when you put your engine on you supercharger your head gaskets will blow and rods will like ping or nslookup or something. It's like super awful.

Immediately!??... Several S/C owners have had their supercharger with quite a few mods with no problems, A turbo can be even more reliable if properly tuned. As for engine life, it's almost a given that that it will decrease considering your boosted! Gotta lose something to gain something!

I've actually already read this somewhere but thanks. and yea according to this article s/cs are more reliable... they're talking about the supercharger's reliability but not it's affect on the engine's reliability right?

THey should start banning people for stupidity.

The s/c is a good choice for keeping your engine up to par. I am still running the stock boost and have decent #'s. On the other hand .... the s/c is less harsh on your engine then a turbo. The trd s/c builds boost depending on the rpm's of your car so it will never spike (it cant) like a turbo can. Now that they dropped the price $1k on the s/c its like getting a s/c installed for free. Someone beginning in the world of FI ....this is a good choice so they can learn and will be able to spend less money then a turbo. If you are more advanced with FI and have $5k to spend on a turbo ....then get the dezod kit and you are good to go.

dont bother with a stupidcharger.

TURBO FTMFW

turbo will always prevail

now explain to me what makes a turbo worse then a SC. SC create drag on the engine and even puts upward pressure on the main. turbo has no drag on the engine and works completely off of waste. so you peak say 10 PSI and the turbo spikes 10 psi what is the diff? nothing. you will in the end be able to pull more HP out of a turbo.

Reasoning or GTFO. There are some supercharged tC's on here that are faster than turbo tC's. The TRD s/c is also cheaper than any turbo kit you'll find. So... I don't see where you're coming from.

GTFO? very true on the cheaper part but it will only take you so far...and as im sure most of you know the power is addicting. if you think you will be satisfied with just the small gain the TRD will get you then go for it...but i strongly recoment a turbo...you can get a kit that will bolt on and put you right near 350

I'm still laughing over the "ping and nslookup" comment. That was priceless.

But suggesting one over the other without knowing what the recipient of such forced induction is looking for is just shooting in the dark. Do you want reliability or raw power? Do you want smooth boost or turbo surge? Do you want the sound of pressurized air escaping or an increasingly intense whine? How much money are you looking to spend? How much time are you looking to invest? How mechanically inclined are you?

These are all things that you really should consider asking before just saying "TURBO FOR THE WIN".

Well, a shop can install a turbo, too. I can install either forced induction method myself, on the other end of that arguement.
