im not sure how i missed your post. So you are saying its a normal 1 1/4 bolt - do you know how many lbs it was put on with? Any pictures of the old bolt with your weld?

 

yes I would like to know these same answers cause as of right now I'm only hearing bs if you can't back it up. so I would think you should know the thread pitch and the torque of the bolt as well

I think that whoever has done this just does not see this post --- i am not buying the fact that nobody has taken it off because this site is full of "do-it-yourself'ers"

 

I went to a local locksmith, they didn't want to touch it. Said that the fitting could match one of hundreds of different sockets.

 

^good god - are are any other locksmiths that could be asked in your area? I dont know of any in my area but im sure there has to be one somewhere

 

I work for SPX. We make all of the special service tools for many car makes including Toyota. The call has come into our help desk looking for the tool and I hate to say it but we don't make it. and if we don't make it, then dealer probably won't have it. The only other people that may have it is TRD.

^ thats some bad news for me and a lot of other people. I don't even have a warranty anymore on my s/c so I have a Flippin bolt that I can't even take off. One guy said he welded a head onto it but that sounds like BS since he has yet to post pics

so wats the news on this Tamper-proof Bolt. has anyone found the key for it. or know any website that sell the supercharger without the new Tamper-proof Bolt.

 

why doesn't someone just make a damn key for it... seriously it wouldn't be that hard.. hell i could do it if some one had a newer s/c near me

i think it might be feasible to utilize the spx torx socket on the trd tamperproof bolt if you file/dremel down the outer edge to match the contours of the tamperproof bolt head. you really only need to grab on the inner 6 sided star pattern of the bolt so as long as you can fit the socket inside the outer 6 sided "depression" then you should be good to go. of course dremelling down the socket will be a tad on the really hard side, since it is probably forged.

If you found a key to buy we would have bought it - simple as that.

 

Use an air compressor powered dremel or a good diamond wheel on metal cutter and cut a few slots on the nut.

Than use a special socket for removing stripped bolts (it cuts into the bolt to grab it) and remove! It should grab pretty good if you cut some good slots in the nut. If you can, after cutting the slots try bending a few pieces outward to help the socket grab even better. Than go buy yourself a new nut!
