If you pull all the fuel and they do hit boost, bad things will happen.

problem with that is they don't need a lot of miles for a joy ride. for example, they could just go WOT up and down a couple of blocks several times and only put on less than 3 miles.

And what excuse would they have for putting 3 miles on it? It's a body shop, no test drive is needed to pinpoint an issue and I will be willing to put money down that no body shops in NY park cars 3+ miles away from the actual shop.

and it BETTER not be parked 3 miles away i expect it to be locked up inside the bay! They do have to do an alignment on my car though...:/

id just politely ask them not to drive it.
tell them that they are a body shop, and they dont have any reason to be taking the car for test drives.
then politely remind them that you know how many miles are on the car.

yellowxhoodie - will do that either way

Its going to the body shop because some stoner ran into me at a red light... the area i was in has a series of lights and they all change at the same time - stupid kid sped up to get through a yellow (which was a stale red by the time he got through it) and hit me at the next light where i was stoppped.. luckily im paranoid of this happening and i stop like 20' back ... and i used every inch of it when he pushed my car up (while standing on the brakes too!!), so no front end damage but about 4500-5000 worth on the rear :/ both me and the gf were fine,

Ah, so it's not some damage that can just be fixed in the driveway.

ouch.
glad everyones ok.
id really advise you to start a relationship with a body shop owner so that you can always take it to someone you trust.
also comes in handy cuz theyll usually cut you a deal too.

____, I don't know the name of the shop, but my friends Evo is at one right now and he trusted them with the car, and it's not exactly a stock Evo. They're even getting him aftermarket parts with no questions asked.

Originally i was hoping to do it in the driveway, untill i noticed the rear fender is warped.. frame needs to be stretched about a half an inch on the right side and who knows what else..

the body shop - theyre hooking me up big time, aftermarket parts no problem.. i know the owner but i dont have a good relationship with every guy working there... im just really nervous, i know a few body shops since i work in the automotive industry its just that i feel bad taking my car back when theres a piece of dust in the paint and i know now the owner is paying for the respray out of his pocket, this guy i wouldnt feel so bad pointing out an imperfection thats so minor that hes like... wow i hate you.

If you know the owner, then just tell him to make sure no one drives your car and tell him you're going to take note of the exact mileage just in case.
