Default The Turbo is IN!

Just picked it up today. I was so excited I left the shop without the dyno printouts, but they're supposed to email the charts to me. Whenever they show up I'll post them. The highlights, however, I remember:

7 lbs. of boost
252 HP
263 Torque (I think that's right. It was just over 260, I remember that.)

It's the Turbonetics kit and a GReddy Evo II rear exhaust. A real sleeper. You'd never know it was there until you got on it.

Also, here are some pics of the gauge pods we had custom made for it. Those are Autometer Cobalt gagues up top and a little Blitz DTT timer stuffed in the glovebox.

Congrats, I dont know how I feel about where you mounted the gauges, part of me loves it, and the other half is like ehhh...

But awesome to say the least, enjoy it! Go get a timeslip at the track!!

Personally, I LOVE the gauges! Nice!!

So can you buy them somewhere, or are they one-offs?

Very nice setup. Impressive numbers off 7lbs of boost.

That is a very clean install... I like it!

A tC with a Greddy EVO2 exhaust isn't really a sleeper.

I really like the gauges like that. Other than having to drill holes in the dash. Nice setup.

The gauge pods are custom made so no, you can't buy them anywhere, though if you find a good interior shop they could do something very similar. Yeah, I wasn't wild about putting two small holes in the dash either, but I just couldn't figure out where else to mount them. The A-piller gets in my way and besides, the car has the side curtain airbags.

The dash and center console is reserved for audio/video stuff to come later so my choices were limited. These are completely visable to my wife (who is 4 ft. 10in.) and don't interupt her view of the road so I figured I could live with drilling into the dash.

As for calling it sleeper, I meant more about the sound. It has a nice quiet growl to it. It's not obnoxious and you really don't hear it coming. At a light, if you pull up beside it, you can barely tell it's running. But you're right, that big pooper on the back does give it away some.

I have the exact same setup (turbonetics, greddy evo 2, and timer)......but I also have the crank pulley. I installed the pulley after the turbo and exhaust....It really made a difference. If you want to check out my car go to this link http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2230271. I'm really amazed at how fast these things are when the turbo is in them. Hey, do you have your check engine light on? Mine has been on since I put the kit in. It is popping a catalyst code or something like that.....I really don't know much about engines, but I really don't like the light being on....but it's probably going to be on forever. Let me know what you think.

The light is coming on because the turbo removed the catalytic converter from the header. Do the anti-fouler mod to the S-pipe and your CEL should go away

Looks very clean and well-engineered. You can tell someone spent time thinking about how to mount and fit everything. Quality.

Yeah, we're getting the occasional light too, Plans are already in the making to do the anti-fouler mod.

why did you clock the turbo a few degree forward? those are some nice dyno number you got there.
