Default Turbo Ball park

All,

I am looking into getting a turbo kit for my tc, and I need everyone's input...

So the question for thoes who this procudure done already, what is the ball park price range you had to spend from the purchase to the installation.

Why do I ask? cause i need to know how much I need to start saving from my allowance money. lol.

Thanks for the advice.

I got the Dezod turbo kit. I love it. went from around 135-140WHP to 259WHP and 287WTQ at 9.5 lbs with a 2.25" exhaust. Once I get a 3" exhaust put on and get a GT3076R, it's gonna be crazy. I also LOVE Turbo Toyota's kit, but then again, their manifolds make it where you can't use some aftermarket hood, like the Kaminari Reverse Cowl Hood. However, they have came out with new versions, so not sure if that would work still.

I wouldnt even consider boosting unless you have 7g's or a spare beater car in case something goes wrong.

for kit and install and gauges, ur looking from anywhere between 3500 and 7500...and you always wanna have at least an extra 2k because things most likely will happen and you will need money for repairs and upkeep...it ain't cheap man

I paid $750 for install. I got REALLY hooked up. I will get a $300 custom paint job without the engine in the bay sometime. Not sure when. But, anyway, you're gonna want a Clutch at some point. Might as well do the LSD and Flywheel while you're at it.

I think they say to be ready to spend just as much as you bought your kit for... So say you buy a $4k kit, better be safe and have $8k ready for install, gauges, who knows what...

So far with my kit, gauges, coating, fuel pump, plugs, exhaust, etc. I have spent close to $6k and it's not even installed yet.

Just make sure you plan for everything possible, which is almost impossible... Good luck!

Default Thanks for the advice

You guys are really helpful.

Yea i was thinking the same, plan to spend as much as I bought the kit.

So what brand would anyone recommend when going turbo. I heard TurboToyotas are widely used in most scions.. Is this correct??

Did anyone order their parts online or did u get it done through the installer/shop..

The big ones are dezod and turbo toyotas... both of those vendors you can purchase them online... Both have very knowledgable staff than can point in the right direction depending on what you'd like to do...

There are some other kits out there, but those are the big one...

Oh yea, the sites...

Man...some days, I'm really proud to be part of Scion Life!

Yeah, whatever you spend on the kit and double it...you should be good. In my case, it was about $6K.

If you look at the "Turbo Pics" thread in my sig, you can see the full TurboToyotas setup with price breakdown and dyno sheet.

Oh, but they changed the IC pipes so thye no longer hang down...I'm just waitign to get my new set to take new pics.

HAPPY BOOSTING!

Oh, and you can have everything done for like half the price if you go custom, but you really need to know what your doing, and it will take a lot of time and thought, but it can be done. I just didnt' have the time to devote to it.

Yea, there are idiots around like ChrisDiablo, the famous ForPinks, etc. If you look deep enough, I was one of them, however, it wasn't ME, it was my younger brother. LOL, but yea, welcome home!

LOL, my parents love him more than me, so if I did that, it wouldn't be good for me. But, I did take his favorite game Halo 3 for awhile, he freaked out.
