is there anyone that doesnt have their CEL on after they installed the turbo? is there any way that i can gert the CEL off after i install my turbo that would not burn a hole in my pocket? THANKS

It will still come on even if you stay out of boost. It will just take longer. Either way the O2 sensor in the spipe will still read more carbon then before.

 

The only cheap way to get rid of the CEL...

Clip the wire to the bulb :D

I use a ZPI antifouler, no CEL from that 02 since the cars been turboed in feb

 

how much is this antifouler i searched the zpi site and it says no search results

 

you can get a kit from dezod with a cat'ed downpipe so you won't have a cel. more expensive, but 100% effective.

 

ZPI dosnt sell them i dont think. call and ask. They gave me one with my kit when i was up there

 

The turbonetics came with an O2 extender (about 3 inches) that extends the O2 in the S pipe and I have not had a CEL in 10k miles so far.

 

I'd be willing to bet, if you asked them too, ZPI would be able to weld a high flow cat into the downpipe for a little extra cash. Not sure how much, but to me, it would definitely be worth it. Those anti-foulers and O2 extenders don't always work.

 

You will loose power doing this however

 

yes, you will lose power with a cat, but it keeps everything legal and is far more reliable than any anti-fouler. and it's not like it is a huge amount of power lost. isn't it like 10 whp?
