Has anyone tried the turbo x coating for their turbo manifold, downpipe, etc? Mine look good awful and I am looking for some sort of coating to put on it. Any other suggestion on coating would be helpful as well.

I've considered jet hot, buy I can't really have my car down for more than a weekend (as it is my daily).

 

We can offer express service turnaround, but it's expensive.

No. It goes out to JH.

 

I just talked to JH, they qouted me 275 for the manifold, 125 for the exhaust housing and 30 a linear foot for the downpipe.

Does that sound right?

I give this stuff a try and post up the results.

 

VHT flame proof worked for me. Take your time with the prep and properly cure it and you will be happy. won't last forever but neither does jet hot.

It wont hold up to the heat, it will flake off, even high temp powder coat

 

why don't you order a new manifold, get it coated, and sell your old one so you're aren't burdened with long down time?

Awesome stuff. A few different colors, 2000 degree capable and NEVER flakes off!
Oh and MUCH cheaper than JetHot.

 

Thanks guru! I contacted them earlier today and they are very reasonable - looks like Ill be able to get my manifold and downpipe coated sooner than i thought

I'm looking to do the manifold, dp, and turbo housing at once. I actually have a new manifold ready to go on, though

Swain is good for things that won't expand and move. Things like turbine housings. Otherwise it just breaks.

The only coating I have seen that is worth a damn is the Jet Hot 2000. If you get this other stuff I'd like to see pics of how it holds up.
