Default Turbo melting fan housing

My turbo is slowly but surely eating away at my fan housing. I have added a heat shield which helped but it still looks like its getting damaged. I don't have my down pipe wrapped yet. Other than the wrap is there any other methods to stop the melting?

Mine melted away as well. But from the wastegate not the turbo. External wastegate? Open Dump? Do you have a pic?

i would consider wrapping the downpipe/manifold. otherwise get some slim fans (good ones, no ebay) and mount them on the outside of the ac condenser. but make sure you switch the wires to make them push air, not pull.

When you say heat shield do you mean like a piece of metal or an actual turbo blanket? I got a Thermal Zero blanket after I had the exact same thing happen on a long trip. Since putting it on I haven't had any more problems with melting.

I'll upload a pic tomorrow, by heat shield I mean a piece of metal. Sounds like the thermal blanket might be more efficient. Its clear that the melting is coming from the turbo as you can see where the heat is radiating from. Guess its times for some wrap and a thermal zero blanket.
