Default turbo? supercharger?

i apologize if i ididn't search thorough enough, but can someone point me in the right direction. whats the diff. (mainly) between a turbo and a supercharger?
1) which will make my car faster with the littlest amount of work?

2) which is cheaper? not b/c im cheap, but for general knowledge

3) will i need a whole new exhaust setup? i want to keep it semi-stock sounding, and i understand that you can only do that to an extent, i just don't want a huge cannon.

thanks a bunch

have a great day!

1. A turbo will ultimately make it faster

2. A ZPI stage 0 is cheaper to buy, with more horsepower, then a supercharger.

3. To tell you the truth, i have no idea.

A local dealership is going to start selling the 05-06 TRD superchargers for under $2200. Be careful with the ZPI turbos. Some of great luck with theirs, but everyone I know locally that bought one had lots of problems with their kits.

A Greddy or Turbonetics kit would be the easiest way to go for a nice gain in power, with less headaches and custom work to get them to fit properly. You also wouldn't have to wait a long time for parts from different vendors to be made, then shipped piece by piece.

Then there's the question of what do you want the power for. Drag racing? Turbos are a better option. Autocross and road courses? A lot of people have better luck with superchargers, esp those that don't have a lot of Auto-X and road racing experience.

Turbos will be faster... but the s/c is under warrenty as long as you don't further mod it. My car was certified used when I bought it (100k warrenty) so I got the s/c for that reason.
