There's a lot more underlying costs than just the cost of the turbo or SC.

Look at my thread and you'll see.

SC issues are fixed under warranty and do not pose a huge threat to the engine.

The Greddy turbo has been known to blow engines on the way to get tuned.

For the Supercharger, the only underlying cost is getting it installed. That's it. All problems are fixed for free under warranty.

For the Turbo, the underlying costs include tuning costs, clutch upgrades, and fixing the stuff that breaks out of your own pocket.

Im honestly not a fan of either... but you have valed points..but did not state the whole story for some points.. Such as the engine blowing on the way to the tune.. you forgot to put that the wastgate acuator was damaged during shipping and did not open and that is why the engine blew.. Yes SCers are covered under warranty.. but at what point when some people have gone thru 3 SCer's do you say enough is enough..and the SCer's have caused damage to peoples engines also, but if you like having your car at the Dealership all the time then it's all good.

Considering I went through two s/c's, I'd like to say it's still a great option. If they're installed right (shaft alignment) you may have yourself a quick, reliable car for a long time. One thing to really consider is how much you plan to be invovled in your car if something ever goes wrong. You can always call the dealership and things fixed under warranty by people who know what they're doing (at least I'd like to say they know what they're doing). It might be a little frustrating dealing with the warranty or the dealership but if you keep things stock you won't have anything to worry about.

Now, if you want performance beyond the capabilities of a stock s/c setup, you shouldn't even consider the s/c. There's no point in modding you blower with pulleys and cams ect, just to find youself with a busted blower and no money or knowledge on how to fix it. Turbos have problems of their own. If you can fix them great, just one more reason to go that route. But if you don't know to much about boosting, or know someone who does, turbo might be a bad way to go. Your engine sees more overall boost with a turbo so long term engine reliability will be compromised for sure.

Good luck with your choice. Either way, you're going to have a fun car to drive and something that makes your car different from the everyday tc that drives down the road.

I'll sell you my s/c kit with a NEW blower for $1800. Call BOB at TRD (see TRD's contact page), the blower comes with a complete warranty just like any other kit you buy. The s/c hasn't receieved a vehicle VIN number yet. I was supposed to sell it to a friend but he hasn't come up with the money and haven't been able to contact him since. PM me if you're interested. You're not to far away, I'm in the south Milwaukee area.

Comes with NST pulley and reflashed ECU
