Default Turbo Timer Questions

I know of the brands that are available, but how hard was the splicing to get the turbo timer working properly. I have checked with Greddy, Blitz, Apexi, and no harnesses made for scion tc (for obvious reasons). Thanks for the info.

If you do a search for the apexi timer, there is a diy for it, it is not to bad. I got the apexi and used that diy and i havent had a problem. There is basically 5 wires, power, ground,1 to the e-brake, and 2 to the ignition. Just use that diy as a guide and it should help you with any timer. There are currently no pnp harnesses, those are usually for the factory turbocharged cars. I hope it works out 4 you, Goodluck.

this is another topic up for debate. they say they help the turbo cool down and keep the oil from breaking down and clogging lines, while others say they just drive lightely for a couple minutes before they arrive at their desitination, and let it idle for 30 sec when they arrive.

then there are those that say that using synthetic oil is better because it doesn't break down as easily as mineral based ones and so on.

i asked zpi once, they said they don't use them on any of their cars and don't find it neccesary.

Thats kinda how I look at it. 80-100 bux is well worth it to me for peace of mind. As drax said, its not required, but it just makes me rest easier.
