Default Turbonetics question

Ive been recently boosted by turbonetics and Ive noticed a few flaws. I was wondering if any one with this kit noticed the same things...... After letting off the gas in 1st or 2nd gear I notice this slight high pitched noise, like when Im coming to a complete stop. It kind of sounds like worn out brake pads. Its not really loud, but I can hear it. Im pretty sure its the turbo completely spooling down, but anyone else experience this? Also theres some weird shaking when the rpms go slightly low ( 18k-23k) in 3rd nd 4th gear. Like when your looking to just accelerate at a normal level. I notice the AFR goes lean to about 17. Anyone else have this happen to them? I know these aftermarket kits arent perfect and your car wont run as smooth as it did n/a. But it would be good to know if I wasnt the only one seeing these things.

Never had that problem. You need a tune. I know a place that tunes the unichip right here on Long Island. Hit me up via PM or AIM and i'll point you in the right direction.

You change out your plugs? I'd rec. going one step colder and that should remedy some of the idle issues. Definitely look at the tune since the base map just doesnt cut it.

Never had a problem like that with turbonetics. Take your intake pipe off at idle and see if its spinning.

One thing it could be.....The compressor wheel rubbing the compressor housing. That happened to my brothers last turbonetics turbo. We are now running thier water turbo with MUCH better results.

After a couple of days Ive noticed the noise getting a litte louder and more frequent from the turbo. It does sound like something is rubbing and Im going to most likely have to send it back to turbonetics. It doesnt appear to be building full boost either. Im only up around 7-7.5 psi. Anyone ever see the manifold glow red after really getting on it for a while? I guess I started noticing this noise after I was roasting around with a friend one night. After a pretty intense 10 min I opened the hood to show my friend the kit, and where the wg sits and the exhaust manifold, it was red from heat. Anyone see this before? Engine temp was fine, it was just those parts.

Yes if this is the case blown turbo for sure. And yes I've had my downpipe pretty much see thru before.....haha. I'd take off the intake pipe and check for shaft play. Look for scrapes on the compressor housing from the fan making contact.

I got another car, so I have my turbonetics kit lying around if you wanna try and replace some of the components. I live over in hicksville. Not too sure how far away I am from ya, but hit me up!
