Default Turbonetics Turbo Kit Question

Ive been saving to get a turbonetics turbo kit for my 2008 tC but the only turbonetics kits i have seen are for 2005-2006. I know that its practically everything on the 2005 tC is the same all the way up. Does any one know if there are any problems that i will run into if i get this kit? Specifically any compatibility issues. Heres a website along with part number.

Any help would be very appreciated!

I would call them first and make sure they still have a turbonetics kit for the tc. They have stoped making them for our cars and have become very limited. The issue you will find with this kit is you will need a maf flange adapter and see if the kit includes the aem fic instead of the unichip. when you call them ask them about a maf adapter and fic with pnp harness for your year. good luck

yes both the maf sensor tube and the engine management wont fit your car...

i dont believe turbonetics offered a 07-10 model so to make it work u would need a custom intake tube and a new enginemanagement harness

take my advice for the money your paying you can get a better quality kit, such as dezod or ptuning.....dezod being cheaper and ptuning being suprierior

both being better than this

As far as the MAF, i already have an adapter and i have heard rumors about the unichip before, but i was sure i needed a aem fic instead. Thx for the help Crush and cburglb34.

What else can you tell me about the ptuning kits? I have heard some, not much.

i have hands on experience with their kits and i can tell you no corners were cut when designing their kit

their manifold is made in shop and is an amazing piece of art, the way the manifold is setup it allows the turbo to sit lower allowing for much mroe room in the engine bay,

its the only production kit that utilizes blow-thru maf setup, which makes boost feel like a factory car, and also if u had a intercooler pipe pop off u can still drive around( other setups will stall and not drive)
http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Des....&ModelDesc=tC

heres the link its cheaper than that kit u were looking at and is definately of much more quality

manifold design are different on the 05-06 than from the 07-09 tC's. Also check to see if there's a unichip tuner near you. Otherwise tuners are hard to find that'll touch unichip.

the only difference in the manifolds are the wastegate flange...

Wow thank you for the information cburglb34. I should of mentioned this before but i was lucky enough to get my hands on Wiseco forged pistons and K1 forged pistons for my tC (not installed yet). Im looking to push my tC as far as possible, that means the turbo as well which means i want to get as much information as possible to make a smart decision. Im new to the tuning scene but i know my way around a engine. Is there any other turbo kit information any one can give me?

yes as mentioned before the dezod turbo kit, can be found on http://www.dezod.com/pd-dezod-s1-scion.cfm

it too is very good, they unfortunately use a log manifold but dont turn your back on it just yet, they make respectable power aswell, they kit is simple and easy to install yet very powerful i believe most run that kit at 8.5-10psi with happy results... for you id recommend 10-12 psi on either the ptuning kit or the dezod for your setup both use a 57 trim turbo...dezods turbo spools faster and brings in torque earlier but ptuning takes the win in midrange and top end

dezod is 1g cheaper

if u buy these kits they both come with

aem fic to tune with which i love its user friendly and also it allows for partial throttle tuning

turbonetics is no longer made so they are out... Dezod is coming out with a new kit and just released a new management... That all being said go dezod, descendant, ptuning, or sound performance.

Wow thanks again. Looks as though im am swaying towards Ptuning. I may wait till the new kit comes out from dezod just to see the stats on it. The only real issue i have with the Ptuning kit is all the pics i have seen of it, all the pipes are red and im going for a blue theme. Any one have any other information for me about turbo kits? Stats on the ptuning and dezod would be nice so i can make an informed decision. Like HP gains and so forth.

Dezod S1 uses a 50 trim. Or at least that's what they were using back in 07 when i had their kit.

/\/\ granted this was WAY back in the day when they were using turbonetics turbos and at that time they were using turbonetics 50trim .48a/r. Not sure what those guys are using now. Then they switched to precision, and now i dunno what they're using.
