Sepa...this is not an EL mani replacing a log style.
It's an ALMOST EL tubular style mani replaceing a log style.

Well...you obviously know what your talking about, but you keep comparing the zpi log style to an el mani. This is not an EL mani...so none of your coments have any relevence in this thread.

Eliminating pulse overlap and providing a smooth unrestricted flow to the turbine makes for quick spooling as well.

Get it yet?

Logs will spool a turbo. EL tubular spools it the right way.

Jesus, look at Rado's turbo manifold on the time attack car.....doesn't look like he had any issues with slow spool up.

probably wouldnt affect the spool to much, as the 16g spools instantly anyway. but im sure it would help the top end a good bit. plus it would look alot better, and help to get some of the kenny strickler taint out of the engine bay.

Log Manifod + 16G = Fast spooling

Big Tube manifold + 16G = Untested and speculations on spooling difference.
This manifold > log manifold.

anyone who understands the purpose of a manifold and the flow characteristics of each design should know this.

Log manifolds are easier to make and they work....thats the ONLY reason why you seem them.

This manifold (assuming its properly matched with the right turbo and supporting mods ie. 3" DP, full exhaust and properly tuned) will spool practically just as quick, with less surging and more stable PSIs.

Log Manifolds will spool the turbine faster due to having shorter runners. This is why I want to know how this manifold will work in conjunction with the small 16G. This isn't just a manifold you know, it's for replacing the manifold in the ZPI kit, which most people using ZPI kits are running 16G turbines.

What are you getting all upset for? All I want to know is the spooling characteristics between a Log style + 16G and with this new manifold + 16G.

Geesh is that such a hard request without someone trying to get all bent out of shape? People take what you say and go into fu@kin left field with it...

agreed. lets just give it a rest and wait to see what differences the test mules come up with.

I think the best idea for quicker spooling would be a ball bearing turbo.

the differnt mani will help a little, but you should notice the most from a BB type turbine.

I have never looked into it, but I am sure there are a few for the evo that could work for our set ups.

My broke a$$ can't afford a different turbo, so I have never even researched it

thx TT. yeah, your runners don't have to be EXACTLY equal length to be a big improvement in efficiency over a log-style. :D if the runners are 90% equal in length, its still going to be a big improvement.

yup, i guess we'll just have to see which one performs better with the 16g.
