Default Turning boost up on stock internals

Ok guys was thinking about turrning the boost up what do u think the safest psi to run would be on stock internals, what would also be the best boost controller i should buy before i do this right now im running about 8-8.5 psi at 261 whp, any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dont do it.. wait till you get some internals... plain and simple.. Talk to Nu Era.. he can tell you all about turning the boost up, as can a few others with grapefruit sized holes in there blocks.

yuppp rippmods said that with the meth injection and boost controller they were thinking of turning it up to 11-12 psi with a good tune, but to me it sounds crazy.

Well, I would get internals first, but I have seen people DD at 10psi. But tune it right, don't be cheap.

It's fine - Karl (IceNine) runs Meth injection at 12psi with his S/C. Both the Meth injection + Tune were done at Ripp/PRA

Some meth and an excellent tune.. you may get away with pushing 10psi.. if you dont beat on it to hard... We all know we would rather spend money on getting internal done.. than spending it on a new block..

The SCer is not gonna put near the strain on the engine at 12psi that a turbo is gonna put on it.. Even if it is the same psi.. I personally wouldnt go over 8 -8.5 psi.. But if you feel the need then go with 10 as the max.. Best of luck to you Byta..

Wrong - just because the S/C is more linear with power doesn't mean there's less strain than with a turbo. PSI is PSI.

Okay you have a turbo.. when is full boost set in 3k rpms... When is full boost on the SCer at ..... redline.. which one is gonna put more strain on the engine for longer periods of time????

about 2800 rpm and yes ur right the turbo will put more strain. i understand what ur talking about. even ross at ripp explained to me how a turbo puts more stress on a engine than a supercharger.

Yeah but how often will you be at full boost?

Anyway - with Meth injection and a good tune you should be good at about 10psi.

I personaly say Turn it up get yourself a hallman pro RX Manual boost controller and have the car retuned and go to 10 psi. I personally have been running 9.5 psi for over 12K and i beat on my car everyday and work a part time using my car 3 nights a week. if you dont have a exhaust get one 2.5" all the way back.

a turbo 100% adds more strain compared to the s/c. The turbo is almost max boosting as soon as u hit the gas. The s/c is only max boosting close to redline..... so you will directly will be pushing your car harder on a daily basis.
