Default very strange thing happening with my engine *problem solved*

When I have been starting my car there has been making a little wish sound followed by a small little puff of smoking coming from the injector area. Very weird. It doesn't start the car from starting though so....any ideas? by the way this only happens when i turn to on...not when I try and turn the engine...

When you put the key in the on-position the fuel-pump starts and the ignition coils become energized.

So the puff of (smoke and/or fuel) starts as soon as the fuel rail becomes pressurized.

I think that you might have a bad injector o-ring. Does the injector leak any fuel while the engine is running?

Wiggle the injector a bit to see if it's just miss-seated.

Dude he works at a dealer.. but he also installed a turbo kit, that requires the removal of factory injectors and aftermarket ones to be put back in... So going to the dealer wouldnt exactly do him any good..

But I agree with Eric..check the seating of the injector and O-ring..

Figured it out! Turns out that when you switch injectors that there are two seals on each injector. One o-ring, and one "injector vibration dampner" as the dealer calls it. Basically it's just a gasket that keeps the engine injection pressurized. This is why my car idled horribly, sounded loud, and put out flames when the ignition was turned on lol! I had three that stayed in the block, but one that came out and we couldn't tell until we stuck a mirror back there. Everything's fine now except a small exhaust leak in the s-pipe so once I fix that I'll be good to go. However, I did notice my car doesn't rev as well as it used to, could this have to do with a little boost lag or maybe the exhaust leak?

Joe can comment on the extensive testing we did on how VAC line routing to the BOV proved to be a MAJOR difference in revving the 2AZFE.

Well I think it matters where you tee things too....maybe I teed off my bov line too far from my throttle body or maybe I used to much line for it. I also wonder if my boost gauge line could affect it since it is a bit long...

check for a leak or a pinched line
