Default Video Gauges?

I'm making plans for my car and what I'm going to do and I want to have my boost gauge ect... to appear on my LCD screen. I will be getting rid of my kenwood ddx8017 DVD LCD (pm for offers) and installing a carputer with an LCD screen. I was looking for the best place to put my gauges so that everyone can't see them and know that I'm boosted and thought where the stereo was would be perfect, then thought to have them show up on my LCD screen. Can this be done and how? I searched the internet and found a UK site that says they had that on "Fast and the Furious" (guess I gotta watch it again) and suggested something but it was only for a UK WRX. Any ideas?

cool idea, i guess you could take the probes from the guages and interface them to your computer via parallel or serial...

or you could put your guages somewhere, put a camera on them, then pull up that video feed
