Vor- - - Chargecooler/ Intercooler
Well, Saturaday is the day. I am going to get it all measured and the pre dyno ran on it. Then they will order the parts the following week and hopfully that friday I'll drop it off and that sat. night I'll pick it up. I am really excited. They just called to conferm the appointment. I let them know about the excitement in our scion communicty and they said they will emediatley begin to put a price on the have them ready to go out the door within a week after mine gets out the door, as long as of course everything runs smoothly, and I recieve good gains.
Ok so I was there for 4 hours oday looking over our optiions with the sapce we have. under the hood. I decided that the vortec kit however efficient doesn't look too good so we are using the same specs as the vortec kit but it will be top mount just like trd kit. We are also looking for some type of carbon fiber overlay kit to cover the cooler for looks of course. He is saying minimum horsepower gain should easily be 35 whp and max closer to 60 whp. I am stoked. They are ordering everything this week and I asume this weekend it will be put on and dyno'd. PM me for any ordering info. However many people order will greatly effect the price of the kit. They still are shooting for 1,000$
Ok tom. I go in to get everything fitted and put on. I am supper excited. They are cutting me a great deal since I am th e guine on this. It'll be 1,500 w/ pre and post dyno and all labor included. Thats good in my book considering the labor has to atleast be 8-10 hours. At typical labor charges thats 700 dollars in labor alone. I should have the numbers by sat. or sun. I hope. If it yeilds atleast 40 whp would 1100-1200 be a reasonable price for a top mount water to air intercooler? What do you guys think? They will have 3 ready by next wed. they said, and are willing to place pre-orders for only 200$. Thats all the info I have thus far.
Well, they recieved all the parts but they said they are losing money making one for me and they need for me to sell atleast 3 of them to make back their money. So that's where we are. I said it should be no problem if we yeild 35 + horsepower. But they are the ones losing money. If I can get a handful of solid commitments I am going to cut and paste those to them and they should go ahead with it.
I think people would be more inclined to pre-order them if there was some actual info on the product. I think what you're doing is great, but some definitive #s would get people to jump on much quicker. If they have yours made, just tell them to dyno it, and if it produces 30+ hp I'm 110% sure that tons of people will be on it (me included).
