WG should always be pulled from the compressor whenever possible. If there is any fluctuation, it's because of either a bad tune or a faulty part somewhere else.

It's not mandatory but it is the prime location.

no fluctuations, but when getting from compressor, the wastegate opens when the compressor reaches 6psi, not when the engine reaches 6psi so in turn you only make like 4.5-5 psi of boost because of the pressure drop...

Then the cause of your loss of pressure is piping or other component restriction. You don't want to have any extended route for your WG vac line if possible because that can cause your WG to open/close late which will cause more headaches with boost creep and spikes. I run a .6 bar spring in my Tial WG and my boost gauge reads 9.5 psi but I have no piping restriction problems, I'm using a stock airbox, but my exhaust has no cats... just a magnaflow muffler at the end. BTW .6 bar is roughly 8.7 psi. give or take in regards to the rest of the setup and elevation.

you can use either use both.. it shouldnt have a very significant difference. It more of preference but many wg, boost controllers and turbo instructions recommends using the compressor outlet as source. You should read the ptuning and dezod don's discussion on this.. you can use either

I prefer the comp outlet for reliability but you can get higher boost by tapping into the post-TB intake mani. I'd stick with the comp. housing and add a manual boost controller but using the intake mani as a WG vacuum source is a cheaper way to add 1-2psi to your WG spring. You may or may not have a boost leak at 1.5psi drop, comp to intake.

Use the compressor, if you are dropping boost you have a boost leak or a restriction somewhere.

i mean the boostgauge is reading 5psi, i have no leaks i leak test every week just did a test two days ago, and then again it could just be the boost gauge that is reading low then again i also have a ebay IC core and long piping setup w.e car feels good =]

I see on the dezod turbokit install directions it says tap the source on the throttle body. Now Don your saying use the compressor. So should that be changed or is it still ok to use that?

Or could someone post pics of where to tap the compressor cause i have no clue where to do that at!

Those instructions were made before I ever worked here, they get updated from time to time as things evolve. Some older kits did not have a port on the compressor cover. The compressor is the best choice. Manifold vacuum will do.

I, however, use the compressor housing. It is a straight positive pressure source acting on the waste gate. If you have a boost leak and use this source it won't allow the turbo to over spin itself to compensate.

there's a transition coupler for the compressor outlet to IC pipe that is already tapped, it easier no drilling or resealing evolved.
