it will probably lean out, unless you tune.

It will not lean out. We made the intake work with the TRD Tune.

It will lean out unless you get a tune and especially if you are running a smaller SC pulley. The TRD map sucks anyways and I can't wait to get mine retuned.

w/o a gauge, how can you tell if you're going to 'lean out' ?

Alright guys, I just installed my Weapon R SC intake with my 9.5 NST pulley. I have an 05 tC and everything runs just fine! I believe the ECU has adjusted a little in the couple of days since the install. I am putting out black smoke (indicating rich fuel mixture) at WOT.

Are you still having this black smoke problem? I'm considering the same intake. Did you note a power gain? I'm also looking into the 9.5 NST pulley as well but one thing at a time. Did you end up tuning?

I have a friend who has an 07 tC with the TRD SC and he installed that intake, he was running fine for a couple of days, but then all of a sudden he was only getting 2psi, we tried all kinds of fixes, changing the fasteners for better ones, adding a better BPV, those things help a bit, got it back up to 5psi, but sometimes it would dip back down to 3, so he took it off and put the stock air box in and drove normal for a day or two and now, 7psi all the time, just like before he installed the intake so if I was going to install that intake I would wait til I got re-tune.

There's no way a intake could affect boost pressure like that. Seems like they have a bad bpv, that is opening when it shouldn't be. If anything the boost pressure should be a little faster since the supercharger is getting a larger volume of air to compress.

Been running a custom built intake on my supercharger for 5 months and no problems.

Like I said we tried everything and it was not the BPV, plus were talking about the weapon R intake, not a custome made one like yours, glad yours is working for you thou.
