It only had 3 weights on it when he added RP to the regular oil. He added the fourth for just RP.
I'm not saying it's bad, I know RP is good stuff, I'm just saying that they didn't address the temperature difference.

I was using Amsoil 10w30 Dominator Series before I sold my car. Good oil. This is coming from Redline 5w40 previously. Still smooth after 3k miles. My habitual oil change is at 3.8k miles.
Better boost response than Redline since its a little thinner.

With a turbo car, you need protection from heat. Using 5W30 or 10W30 doesn't make any difference unless the oil is cold, it the "30" part that you should worry about. I personally use 10W40 in summer and 0W40 in winter. This way the oil isn't broken down as quickly due to the heat. These motors do get hot when boosted.
Mobil 1 is not a true synthetic like royal purple, amsoil or redline. Mobil 1 is a chemically altered dino oil. The only true synthetic made by the oil companies is made by Castrol and is made in germany.
I prefer Amsoil myself, but the other two are just as good.

Mobil does make conventional oil, such as the Mobil Drive Clean (5000mi) and Mobil 7500mi (blend). However, Mobil 1 (Extended Performance) is a FULL synthentic and is all I will ever run in my car.
I've heard great things about Royal Purple and Amsoil, however you can't buy that everywhere. You can pick up pretty much any weight Mobil 1 you want at Wal-Mart, which the last time I checked were freakin' everywhere in this country haha. For it's sheer performance and availability, it can't be beat. I have yet to see the advantages over the others to really justify switching.
Why do you think Mercedes AMG and Porsche put Mobil 1 in their cars from the factory? They don't know anything about engines, right? lol
Also, I'm currently running 5w30 but will be switching to 10w40 for my next oil change.

When I first boosted my car I was using Greddy Turbo Oil 5w40 i think it was, then recently switched to Royal Purple 5w30 because I was told Greddy oil does not have an engine cleaner in it, as Royal Purple does. I use 4 quarts.
Aside from that whenever I buy RP oil at Autozone they always think im a baller LOL and ask me what its going in. It's a good feeling haha
