Default WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS COOLANT TEMPS.. NEED SOME FEEDBACK

I have a dezod kit I sent the mani to get it sterling jet hot coated, so the dp and mani is coated along with the turbine housing of the turbo. so heat is somewhat down from non coated.

My coolant temps range from 206-212

my factory gauge sits about a notch below half way and occasionaly gets to half way.

i believe the scanguage will tell you.

as for me, while at cruising speed without the a/c on, mine is just about 2 millimeters above the lower hatch mark, and goes up to just slightly under halfway if i use a/c or end up sitting for a while. partially because of the trd thermostat, and because of the air diversion panel and kami hook i think helping it vent better.

Highway 182-184
city it can go to 194
Drive thru 204-211
Heavy traffic i've seen as high as 226, scary I know. But the stock needle doesn't even move.

It's all about to change though, got a turbo blanket, Koyo Rad and 170 degree thermostat ready to be installed Thursday.

I'll post results later.

^^ hey make reviews about the koyo rad! i havent heard much about it.. and how does it compare to mishimoto..

right now my temps are 177-184 from cold start to 15-20 mins drive 30-50mph traffic.. highways are 181-186.. but right now im starting to get 200-206. But one of my fan acts weird, i dont think its working like it used.. it just doesnt turn on even with ac on or temps of 200+.. but i see it working at times but just shuts off immediately.. i dont know wats the problem lol

cool ace, I think I'm just gonna go ahead and do it today. I ordered a 170 degree thermo from Oreilys. Do u have any input on Murray thermostats? I google it and nothing bad came out of it, other than some Ford ranger guys saying that the repleacement for them was a bit too big. I also ordered one at Napa just in case this one didn't make it today.

What radiator do you have?

As for the best coolant to use. Use the OEM standard coolant with a 50/50 water mix. This is what was designed to run in the cars. It will do the best job.

It is very important to make sure you have your fans installed with the shroud etc. That shroud helps draw air through the radiator and not just circulate around it. It is important to draw the air through the radiator.

189-202. I'm rarely ever hit 202.

Stock radiator, stock fans, log manifold.

It also depends on your area. In NH my temps would stay in the low 180's but in AZ 200+ isn't uncommon.

My RX8 without an intercooler up front has hit over 220F numerous times just because of the heat out here. I have a few bottles of Motul Imugel coolant that I'll be flushing with my new radiator install though. That stuff's expensive but supposedly works really well.

still testing, will update next week. Too busy this weekend and family coming over next. So far I'm very impressed with how stable the temps are, before I had such a bad roller coaster from 184-209.

Thats the temperatures I see. I saw 225F yesterday.

I don't have a shroud. I have the mishimoto radiator. Toyota Pink 50/50. Some Water Wetter. 1 14" 1900 CFM fan, 1 12" 2400CFM fan. 14" is auto, 12" is on manual switch. I need to get the shroud. I believe that will help me a lot. I also have the Gates 170F thermostat.

When ambient temps are above 95F nothing can keep the temps down besides highway driving. God forbid I use the a/c!

When I get the shroud, also want to get the radiator air plate thing (forgot the name). I believe these two things will REALLY help the temps.

What ever you can do to force air to go through the radiator rather than around it will help. Those two mods will definitely help you out a lot.

I dont know about you guys but when I have my a/c goin itll actually keep my temps in the lower 170-180's even in 90 degree weather and in traffic. Ive got the s/c with the trd stat, stock hood, and an air diversion panel. Ive noticed that having the a/c on keeps both rad fans on constantly.

^^ you have a s/c so you temps should be like stock.. turbo are different, the setup is like huge heat sink that heats everything that is close to it on the engine bay.. some too have to modify the stock cooling setup that could cause less effective cooling
