turbonetics has good warranty and is reliable as well as ToyotaTurbo is a great kit too, greddy is good as well but as long as you tune the turbo properly and drive it easy until you break it in then you should be fine. oh btw for the greddy you need to buy the emangement, injectors, and something else to complete it.

turbo lag is one of the most besides that our auto tranny have slow gears and you'll have to be stepping on it to get into boost since our cars shift around 2.5/3k when easy driving occurs but on the freeway it's cool but some people drive thier autos (like a stick to say) you know from L-2-3-4. i'd say supercharger instead cause it's belt driven and you feel the power from the start but yeah it's not the same as a turbo.

i dunno where you got turbonetics is reliable... its the LEAST reliable kit out for our cars.... Greddy, Dezod, and Turbo Toyotas have the best kits IMO.

Turbos come with great responsibility. Whatever can go wrong will so familiarize yourself with the install and about turbo setups in general. Or you could always just associate yourself with a very knowledgeable shop who can be there when your car is having issues.

Turbo kits produce more power than the supercharger in general. However, the supercharger has been modified to put down over 300whp but only 200-240 or so without modification. My tC dynoed around 240whp with no modification and then a bigger exhaust and a little more boost put me at 261whp.

Take some time... check out some literature about turbos... learn all you can.

With an automatic you are severely limited in terms of what you can do and I really worry about part throttle closed loop problems in terms of tuning. I rarely suggest anything but turbo but in your case considering you are completely in the dark about any of these things, an SC may be safer for you and give you the midrange that you need. It will NOT produce anywhere near as much as the turbo in terms of power (usually 20-30% less power at same boost pressures) but it keeps you in warranty and reflashed ECU is safer than trying to fight it with a myriad of other devices.

I agree with Guru, but it depends on what year your car is...if it's an 05-06, the SC is a decent deal. but if it's 07 or newer, the SC is a total rip-off. for an auto with lack of FI knowledge, I'd go with Dezod. Give them a call and they will get you what you need.

I would totally agree with Dan(Guru) but if you are seriously wanting to go the Turbo route, hit up Paul @ Dezod, they sell a great product, and you won't find better customer service then them.

See that stickied thread at the top of this forum that says Turbo FAQ?

;)

I'll even cut the guess work:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=tercooler

Turbo is definitely not for Noobs wanting to go fast, the uninformed, or those on a budget. If you want reliability, you're going to spend some cheese. And you should have some JIC (just in case) money too. I have a ZPI stage 1.5 and I have enough extra dough to buy a complete engine should something happen. Nothing should, but it's ALWAYS nice to be prepared.
