Whats it take!
Well last test and tune is the 30th of this month!
Last time i went to the track with my car my best run was a 14.4450@96.34 with a 2.2258 60 ft.
This was with a full custom stereo, 18" rims with nankangs!
I wanna runs 13s. 13.9999
so what can i do to shave those .4450 seconds off!
Im thinking removing stereo, running stock 17s with neogens on them!
I was launching at 2krpms before.
Any insite is appreciated please!

I would do the following:
-Remove stereo
-Remove spare tire and tools
-Remove passenger seat and rear seat cushions
-Get Drag Radials on stock tires
-Run low pressure in the drag radials
-On the first couple of runs, concentrate ONLY on your launch.. forget about the rest of the drag.

Try launching a little higher. I got a 2.2 with sorry bald OEM tires, I launched just over 2k to start but the car seemed to bog down a little so I went to 3200 or so it was perfect. Got consistant 2.2 after.
Guys, 2.2 60ft is terrible.
I got that with 17" 205/40 nankook tires way back in a Saturn SC2.. and that was my first time ever on a drag strip.
There's no reason you shouldn't get closer to 2.0 60 ft on street tires.
With Drag Radials you should be in 1.9's.. conservatively speaking.

Relax - my comment wasn't an attack.
I'm just saying that 2.2 isn't something you should shoot for.
A Saturn doesn't have an LSD - in fact, when I had the car, a Quaife application wasn't even available.
An open diff FWD car with a decent driver should be able to pull close to 2.0 60's on street tires.

Saturn does not have the toque i would assume. My s/ced tc if i let it will spin tires through redline in 1st 2nd 3rd. At a 2k launch it was kept minimal!
Not sure just taking a guess?
Thanks for all the input!

In any case - the idea is you should work on your launch and 60ft's. The rest will come once you get those right. Also, what clutch are you using?
preload the clutch a little right before you launch, that way your not putting all that power to the drivetrain at once.dont bring it out enough to make the car move forward, just a little is all it takes.
