Default wide band reading

installed the AEM wide band and im idling at 14s. WOT in the 11s is this normal. can someone guide me in the right direction on how to read this gauge? Im planning on installing a weapon R s/c intake and want to keep an eye out on the AF. currently running a 9.5psi pulley with header (also weapon R)back system.
i have read here that there are people that run CAI/SR intakes with the s/c and it runs fine. i have the stock air box with a K&N filter and it seems fine so far. sorry for the stupid Q.

that's perfectly fine. in vacuum you should see in the 14s. while in boost you want to stay between 11-12 depending on your tune

Thats about right for a/f, but for the intake I will say this, I noticed that I was running leaner with just the short ram compared to when I had the full cold air on. The wr intake is only a short ram, so you may want to get another intake and cut it to fit. The Injen intake I had ran perfect for me, the main thing is getting one that has that lower section.

That might help as long as there is more pipe in front of maf sensor to help smooth out the incoming air more.

so i installed the intake today and readings are pretty much the same but i did noticed that i idle at 15 now and when i lit the 16s for a fraction of a sec when i change gears. should i rest the ECU by unplugging the battery so it can set itself to the new intake ?

Do you have a sound clip? I'm interested in how the intake sounds with the s/c. Are you running any other mods?

That's normal - it's a sensitive sensor so you'll be seeing a wide range of AFRs when you shift.

As long as the AFRs stay consistent during WOT and idle, you're good. 14.3-14.8 is common for idle. WOT varies depending on your tune - but you should try and stay between 11.0 - 12.0 for safety.

You may even see excessively lean condition 22.4+ or "---" when you're in gear decelerating. This is normal too.

cars after 1979 were made with 3 way cat, they require your car to flucuate from rich to lean at all times, if it picks up a constant 14.7 reading it determines that the o2 sensor is blown...

just some info so you don't freak out that your afr's are fluctuating.
