Default ZPI SC PULLEY INSTALLATION.... PITA! *edit for me atleast

Ok. Got it. Looks great. Taking off the belt was A PAIN!

Now how the heck are you suppose to keep the pulley in place to be able to take off the dang thing???????

a simple strap wrench WILL NOT do the trick.

Thoughts?

This is in no way a 5 minute install.

the tensioner doesn't loosen that much? did the ZPI pulley come with instructions? does it recommend an impact wrench or anything like that? try doing the reverse of whatever it says for the install of the supercharger...the pulley didn't come on the unit, did it? I just checked the install manual of the supercharger and it says to use a strap wrench...maybe strap wrench plus impact? it just needs a sudden jolt, which is what the impact would provide. I hope someone can help ya..

ok found the trick. I PUT BACK THE BELT and loosened the pulley bolt FIRST. Unloosened no problem lol man I feel dumb.

Ok back to putting the ZPI pulley on!

So did you need an impact wrench? I kept the belt on but the pulley kept spinning. I kept the car in gear and that didn't make a difference. How do you keep the pulley from spinning while you try to loosen the bolt? The write up says to keep the car in gear but like I said, it didn't work.

yeah, I was wondering about keeping the belt on...I was gonna suggest it, but I didn't wanna sound like a dope, suggesting something that sounds too easy to be true.

try giving it (the socket wrench) a good crack w/a rubber mallet...

lol ok fellas heres the scoop. Kenny is a great guy and gave sound advice lol!

Ok my stock pulley was a PITA to take off. I don't know why but it took me close to 2 hours to get it off. It was freakin' on there man!

Got it off and the ZPI Pulley slid on like silk. I put the belt back on, which is easier now lol due to the smaller pulley.

i only tightened it with a good jolt. I hope that will be ok seems like it wasn't even really on there very tight in the first place.... Think I'll be ok?????? Isn't the pulley counter sink screwed like lugnuts??

Of course it is snowing out right now. I will probably test drive tomarrow.

Yea.. also if you put the car in gear it will help the pulley from spinning.

It worked for me! haha atleast for loosening the bolt, tightening the bolt however you will need something to hold the pulley.. I'm still working on getting my brother in law to upload the video from when we took the pulley off.. really only took us about 5 minutes.

Do you have a boost gauge so you can see the boost increase?

Cool...did you get any pics?

Boost gauge is cake. Cut your throttle body vacuum line and insert a "T" fitting (follow line to the bottom of that vacuum regulator that clicks all the time and cut, insert "T"). There is your vacuum attachment to your gauge. The gauge comes with everything you need .....feed it 12v (and attach to dimmer line if you want to control brightness) and a pod to sit in.

there is a vacuum tree that you tap into..I think. and there should be grommets to pass the wires through the firewall
