Default *Speakers* '06 Tc

I've recently blown two of the speakers (front pass. and rear driver) in my '06 Tc. I've decided to just go ahead and get all knew speakers, for just an all around better sound. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions with which brand to go with.

thanks

How much do you want to spend? Were you satisfied with the sound of the stock speakers, or are you looking for a major improvement?

i was extremely happy with what the car originally put out. but now i have that awful rattle (think you know what i mean). Money wise i wouldn't mind saving a few bucks but still wanna have nice clear sounds that i can feel too.

Go with some Alpine type-e or type-s speakers depending how much you want to spend they are pretty good unamped and if you want to add an amp later the type-s' are the way to go

If you wnt a cheap fix, buy my stock speakers. Used for less than 15,000 miles. PM me an offer if interested :-)

Then there's a solution that should cost you next to nothing.

Find someone who's upgrading that will give you (or sell cheap, like $5) their stock speakers, and use them to replace yours that are damaged.

Concerned they'll blow too? The reason they gave out on you is that they're trying to reproduce the full range of frequencies, but they can't handle the bass. Since you have a sub that plays the low notes, if you filter the lows out of the door woofers, they'll play cleaner and last you a long time.

Hit the following link and purchase 1 of the capacitors shown for each of your stock woofers;

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/psho...number=027-374

When you replace a speaker, wire one capacitor in-line on the positive wire of each woofer. This will filter out the low notes using a first-order slope, starting around -3dB at 120Hz, attenuating at a 6dB/Oct rate, so your woofs won't be destroyed again from too much bass.
