Default 06-07 Stock Ipod Connections

Hey guys, so i acquired a stock Pioneer stereo from a 07 Tc.
I'm going to hook it up in my 05 Tc but i'm missing the cord that goes from the back of the stereo for the ipod connection.
I have the chord that goes from the ipod and the chord that connects to that one..

anyone know of a site where i can get this cord??

Thanks!

As far as I know, there are only two wiring harnesses for the ipod. One that connects to the headunit dirrectly, and travels to the interior of the armrest. The second that connects from that plug to the ipod itself.

im in the same boat. theres actually 3 cables. ipod to connector in arm rest. connector to wire harness, and wire harness to deck. if im not mistaken he is asking about the wireharness to deck cable, which is the same one im missing, and assume comes preinstalled in a 06 and 07 scion already.

yeah.. it is part of the car...

VERY apart of the car..... the wiring and where it routes is very integrated into the vehicle and will take ALOT of time to try and remove from a donor car...

purchasing one from a dealership is maybe possible.. but expect a hefty price tag.

if you really want it, then you can find it in any 06 up models. but thats if you REALLY want it because like squallheart said, its really hard to get. i personally know from experience because i tried to take it out but gave up, its just too much of a hassle.

I recently sold my 07 headunit and I tore the cable out of the car for the ipod. The cable that goes from next to the shifter up to the headunit is a B*#$@ to get out. i spent well over 3 hours just peeling off electrical tape.

On another post somewhere, someone said that when they tried to look up the part number from Scion, that it doesnt exsist.

The only way to get the cable that I know, is to find someone who is generous enough to let you have at their 06 or 07 to pull the cable out. Or go find one at a junkyard.

According to the parts department at the local Scion dealer, you can't order the wiring from them to make our ipod predicament easier!

If someone has one they've removed, please put a schimo up for people to recreate one with. Put the manufacturer of the plugs on both ends with a model # if it's on the plug. Also how many pins and male or female would help.

Make sure you let us Scikotics know when you're coming. What are you doing to your xB? Is it single? My xB is looking for a date..

I'm going to be at Peej's (Scikotics) house for the week (that's my Mom's house) and I think Brian up there(?I think... haven't met him yet unfortunately) may be helping out with the soldering of some SMT led's. I'm stripping the interior out of it when I get there to eDead the whole thing, changing all my gauges/interior lighting to pink and a little blue, adding more pink underdash/seats, putting in the ipod HU, SQ10 sub/box, amp, ground wiring kit... and whatever else I can afford to do. I've just been having things shipped there for months so I don't have to carry it. Oh, and I've had the Rostra cruise control for 2 yrs. and never put it in... I'd also like to alarm it. Needless to say, I will be a busy girl that week! And yes, my xB is single and her name is Nina Simone if yours would like to meet her! ;)

Oh Yeah... and the IPOD WIRING if I can find someone selling it!

Viola, You're too young to know who Nina Simone was. You must be a music affecianado too. I will try to makie it to either Peej's or Brian. I want to do the LED think too. Brian is really reaqlly good on the cars and so is Peej from what I've heard. I think Peej is kind of east of Nashville and Brian and I are northwest of Nashville. We meet in Nashville a lot but a ride to Murfreesboro isn't bad either. I'll come help too if it's a time when I can make it.

Ha Ha... good music knows no age!

Peej is a good mechanic... he and I did a lot of work on my old Explorer before I moved... and he's in Smyrna BTW. I turned him and Tracy (vixen) onto xB's when I got mine. I swear, Scion should start giving me commissions on the sales I make for them!!! I've learned way more than I ever wanted to know about LED's lately and I can't wait to learn the hands on side. You're more than welcome to come over as I'm sure I will be messing with ole Nina everyday at all times of the day!

Keep your ear out for anyone selling the ipod wiring, will you? I'm going to wreck one day from looking down at the ipod trying to change my Nina Simone to Ella Fitzgerald!

I know what you mean about commissions on the cars we sell! Ahh Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald...let's go a step further and talk about Anita O'Day. Speaking of music on the IPOD, when Peej was showing me how his IPod worked in his xB , I think he was surprised when I knew who Tom Lehrer was. And I was really surprised to hear THAT music coming out of his xB! Peej is full of all kinds of surprises.

I don't have a schem but maybe these guys can help. They seem to have the illusive cable. I have an email sent to them asking if this is the cable.

The part numbers are XIAH-TY2 and XIAH-TY1. Still trying to find out which one is needed.

Sorry I threadjacked earlier! There's a person on ebay selling the ipod cable that is installed in all the scions '06 and after. This is brand new and not torn out of a scion. It's the cable you want if you have the other two cables that usually come with the ipod HU, but your Scion was not equipped (prior to '06 models I think) with the ipod cable that runs from the the HU to the other two cables. Does that make sense? It would be the replacement for Toyota part PT546-21060 if you could get that from the dealer (which from what I hear, you can't).

Anyway, here's the link for the auction. Unfortunately I don't need this cable, I need the OTHER TWO!

Upgrading to Kenwood touchscreen so I don't need the ipod cables anymore!
