I would think so, the only difference in the back is the spot for the aux/ipod thing and I'm pretty sure even then it should work perfectly lol.

yeah, it's not stolen, my dad bought it and has the code.

he just gave it to me and told me to hook it up.

Krazy, i have an 05 scion, and im sticking an 06 radio in it.

There's an AUX button, but no regular aux plug.

It seems it needs a scion harness to have aux and iPod ready.

These are the wires I'm looking for.

huh... lol i wouldnt know then, i have an 06, for the ipod you need an ipod ready radio or else you need adapters for it or use an aux, did you check ur armrest glove box? cuz there should be an 12v outlet and an aux plug.. if not try opening up the console and look for harnesses that go to the armrest glovebox.. that is if you have time or want to do it, if not i guess you need to get harnesses but i've never heard anyone needing harnesses for an 05 for 06 radio..

i have an 05 scion, there's nothing like that.

that's why my dad found me an 06 radio, im looking for the aux/ipod plug.

I'm not looking to plug the radio into my car anymore, i know it plug and play.

I'm looking for AUX/iPod wires.

im pretty sure the aux is built into the harness.. therefore it has an aux option?... i dont see why they would built an 05 without an aux option.. that or i must be stupid, some one chime in..

*SMACK*.. you're wrong.

the AUX and/or iPod harness was built into the car.. the '05 does not have it, nor can you easily obtain it... or buy it from the dealership..

BUT... when purchased from the dealership, you'll need to buy the entire interior wiring harness for the car which will have it... at that point you're looking at a $800-900 thing..

(and that does not even include the additional harness and the plug that goes to your armrest where the plug for the iPod will go)

cheapest and only practical thing you can do is go to a junkyard or a friend who has an '06+ and not using it.. and then tearing that wiring harness out..... which will NOT be an easy task.

other than the aux/ipod... the unit is just plug and play.

lol.. thanks for the smack squal, i just had an idea.. so its an 06, im pretty sure you can get and adapter off ebay or somthing, technically its to adapt the ipod into the 06 cuz some 06 doesnt have the premium radio, basically works like an aux allowing the ipod to be controlled through the unit or something like that.. i pretty sure you can take that route...

this will definitely work
http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=548
after gettin that u just need a Y-cable, a red and white to a male plug to plug the ipod into it. easier and cheaper, maybe not from that site but search around..

muahahaha eat that shiit, im a fkin genius..

lemme lay the smackdown again then..

that aux unit was pretty much what all the '05 guys were using to get an AUX input for their decks. that will only input an audio signal and you will not be able to control the iPod..

the '06s that were not equipped with the iPod deck only had to get the additional harness that came with the radio... those harnesses plugged into the wiring harness that's BUILT INTO the car... the one i mentioned earlier that you would have to obtain from a junkyard/another car/ebay (you better know what you're looking for)

or the very very pricy method of thru the dealership.

i would have to agree with Alan on this one... buying an aftermarket deck with an aux/iPod hookup would be the easiest, as well as the best approach.. and most likely the cheapest... especially if you're trying to get iPod capabilities on an OEM deck on an '05... that is unfortunately just not practical.

at this point, the only real advantage of having an '06+ deck in an '05 (because adding everything else isn't practical as i said already)

is to have a volume ****.

OH! BUT WAIT!!!... the door on the '05 doesn't have the extra little space needed for the volume **** because they changed the door design in 2006 just for that! so closing the door won't really be an option.. (that is unless you chop parts behind the door off to make room..)

well.. you can still install it... it's still plug and play.

adding aux? not toooooo bad... see the adapter like the one linked above
(but it won't be like the factory wiring like in the '06+)
but iPod? i wouldn't even try.
