Default 08' tC - After Market AMP/Sub Questions

Hi everyone!
This is my first post on SL.

I have done some searching and not gettting a solid answer.

I recently lost my Celica and have replaced it with a 08' tC.
I pulled my sub and amp from my Celica to install in the tC.
The tC came with the upgrade deck - the Pioneer.
It has 3 sets of RCA connections on the back.
Subwoofer Output | Rear Output | Front Output.
None of these ports are currently being used.

I have all the wireing ran but a bit stumped.
I can just simply connect the RCAs from my amp to the "Sub Output" on the deck, right?
Where do i connect the REM?

On a different subject...
Im a bit uneasy being forced to buy an Ipod or buy a new deck.
That is my only complaint with the tC.
Why go propriatary? Why not have USB instead?

I had installed an after market deck in my Celica that had a USB connection.
30g usb hdd installed. pulled the drive from an old laptop that was lying around and threw it in a external usb enclosure. I left the deck in the Celica when i traded it. I miss my music.

Sad thing is seems i am going to have to buy an Ipod that plays video just to leave in my car and never watch videos. I have searched high and low for an ipod to usb converter with no luck. I think its a fantasy

enough yapping..

thx in advance!

Look for a blue/white stripe wire coming out of your HU

sorry i am not finding a blue/white stripe wire.
finding a bunch of wires with "grey dots" on them.

here are some pics of the wires i have.
if you need better shots let me know

all of the wire bundles

all from another angle

one the main bundles

smaller of the main bundles

i did not take close shots of the other bundles because i figured those where just outs to the speakers.. i can shoot those if needed..

now there are 2 blue wires on what i am calling the main bundle that has grey dots on them. These dots are painted on (so it seems).

no worries.. i just tapped into the cigarette lighter..
all is well. i got my boom back!! w00t

if someone knows which wire is for the rem please let me know.

also something else odd.. i had to plug in the RCAs to the front output. when plugged into the sub or rear output i got nothing. i checked the SW (subwoofer) setting on the deck but it reported N/A as if nothing was connected. odd...

either way. thx tceejay!!

you gotta turn the subwoofer output on first. check the radio's manual.
