Default 08 TC Pioneer deck w/amp

Is the any way to run an amp off the stock pioneer deck without tapping off the speaker wires? I really want to hook up my system without losing steering wheel controls.

For those of you that didn't understand my first question, If you tap off the speaker wires it sounds like ____. The only other way I know would be to change the deck hence no steering wheel controls. You guys really think people are that stupid or just looking for the easiest answer. I was pretty much asking if you can hook an amp up to the Aux input on the back of the stock Pioneer radio?

If you have the premium factory HU, then it has pre-amp OUTPUTS (not inputs) and, yes you can hook those up to an amp and not have all the crappy sound shaping eq crap that scion hu's are programmed with. If you have the basic factory HU then you have no amp outs and have to get the audio signal to your amp via the speaker outputs either with a line-out converter or speaker level straight to your amp (if it has speaker level inputs). Either way, without the premium HU you can only send the 'processed' audio to your amp and it will continue to 'sound like poop.'

You can, however, buy a steering wheel control adapter from PAC accessories and control an aftermarket HU (with any and all the features you could want) with your steering wheel buttons. That's what many of us have done.

And....Don't be so bloody defensive. If people give you bad answers, it's probably because you asked a bad question. Be more specific and descriptive for more specific and descriptive answers.

Well it's AUX in for a reason, so using it for OUTPUT won't quite work. What you need is a line-output converter which will tap into the speakers and convert to RCA. No it doesn't sound like poop as I have this setup in my car. You can also switch to an eclipse deck which most work with the steering wheel controls out of the box, or for any other deck you can get an adapter.

Not at all...it'd be best to tap in right behind the radio so that way you can use the switched 12v for your remote. The sound quality will not be compromised at all.
