1st Thread, Need Some Ipod Help
Hello everyone,
Let me start by saying that you guys and gals have a great forum here. I am actually a member of spyderchat, as I own a MR2 Spyder. My wife owns the Scion.
Anyways here it is. The scion is a 2008 with the pioneer T1808 head unit in it and it has the direct ipod connection in the storage box in the center console. I have searched this forum and have come up with results that I figured would help, but nothing has worked. Now, I'm asking for some more help.
When I plug in the ipod, 2nd gen. nano, I get a message on the display of the head unit that reads Bye, Bye, Ipod as soon as I plug in the ipod??!! I have reset the ipod, plugged and unplugged the cable to try to reset the stereo, I even found a post that said to go into the main menu and turn the direct control on/off. I tried with both options and got nothing, just the same Bye, Bye ipod message.
Is there anyone who has had the same problem? Is there something that I'm missing? What do I need to do to get this thing to work?
Any and all suggestion are greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

is the Nano charged? don't think that should matter as it does charge when plugged into the iPod jack... well at least my new Gen iPods do.
Well at least maybe your road to finding the actual answer won't be that long. At least the HU is recognizing that it is an iPod device that is being connected to it. Probably will be easier to trace the problem then if it wasn't recognizing it at all.
If I come across any other info I'll pass it on to ya.
I actually have the Premium Pioneer HU so it functions a little differently for the iPod interface.
The T1808 is the standard Pioneer HU for 2008.

This is why I'm so confused on what's going on because the headunit is reconizing the ipod, just not in the right way. I will be installing the premium pioneer headunit soon, the T1809. Maybe this will help the problem, but for now I want this one to work.
Thanks for the insight.
