Default 2 or 4 ohms sub

hello, i am trying to get a single 12 inch Kappa sub for tc. I don't know if 2 ohms or 4 ohms would make a difference. I would put it in a 1 cubic feet seal Q-Logic Enclosure or built a seal enclosure myself.
Here are the spec of the subs:

Please let me know which one is better single sub, and what type of amp would be good with the sub?

Neither is better...what it affects is which amp you'd get.

For the 2 ohm, you'd want something that's 350 @ 2 ohm. For the 4 ohm, you'd want something that does 350@ 4 ohms.

it's always recommended to give at least the RMS of the sub. more is alright, just dont overdo it. It's easier to get more watter with lower ohms (which is a measure of resistance to the flow of electrons).

They are DVC tho, so you could get the 4 ohm and bridge it down to 2 ohm or get the 2 ohm and bridge it down to 1 ohm, which ever the amp you chose is stable at.

Personally Id get the dual 4 ohm sub and bridge it down to 2 ohms and use this amp

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13470

400 watts RMS @ 2 ohm

Id also look into getting the sub from the site above, as its only $150 shipped from there

^^^ Thanks a lot for the advice and website. So the 4 ohm sub can give me more options. That Orion 600D got excellent reviews.

Since that amp has Built In Crossovers, Do i still need to buy Crossover?

I will put it (and the sub) in my wish list.
My tc was damage in a accident on Monday. A Pathfinder merge into my lane infront of me and hit a bus on the highway. She was 2 feet infront of me and we were going about 55mph. She stop and i rear end her.
Now i got an excuse to get bBist cf hood.
Unfortunately it is 3 to 4 week wait.

The sub doesnt give you more options per say, its just that many amps and subs are run at 2 ohms overall and bridgeing it to 2ohms is what I would do for future ease if you need to raplce the amp or sub and keep the other component.

The amp has crossovers, so you do not need to buy one. If you have a HU with built in crossovers I would use that and not the amps crossovers though.

Sucks to hear that your tc was damaged. Hope you can make some money outta it and get more mods. My last accident I got the car fixed and pocketed $700.

just for your info, there are better subs out there for the money. Check out the 13kv.2 on mandos's website (it's a 12 inch sub).
