Default 2007 Scion tc Navigation- Please Help

Hi guys,
I just bought a new 2007 Scion tC. I was hoping to get a navigation system installed by Toyota, but they told me that the wiring is wrong and I can only install a navigation system in the 2008..... I really want to find an upscale navigation system that I could install in my 2007 scion tC. I'm willing to spend 2k to find a real good navigation. If anyone knows of any good in-dash navigation systems that they are positive can be hooked up in the 2007 scion tC please let me know. I really appreciate all your help.

Thank you

Sorry to budge into your thread, but does anyone have some that work with the 07 tC's as well?

Eclipse AVN5500

Way cheaper than going through a dealership. Also, just remember that you're going to have to drill new holes in the factory brackets in order for the radio cover to close.

Just go aftermarket.

The only reason why the nav system from Toyota isn't going to work is because 05-07 never had that option and that the harness was never installed in the vehicle. Might be the same case with the 08s without nav system. A vehicle with the nav system has a more complex setup and require to have wires running throughout the car for the brain, sensor and so forth.

Alpine with Blackbird II navagation. The blackbird plugs right into it behind the screen, and it can be taken to other cars if need be.

Kenwood DNX7100

That is the system I am getting in the next month or so. No seperate NAV unit, it has built in Garmin navigation. Also, no expensive NAV DVD's like Pioneer, the NAV software is updateable via a USB port or a SD card

the Eclipse AVN5510 is NOT plug and play.
I had one and the only thing that is plug and play is the sterring wheel controls. the power and speakers are not.

I didnt like my 5510 to much. The nav seemed outdated and slow. The audio portion of the radio was really good.

The D3 to me is alot better, faster, and has way better nav atleast in my area.

If I had 2k to spend id get the Z2 from Pioneer. It is a hardrive based nav so you wont have to put a disk in if you need maps.

Z2,D3 then 5510

yea, but still, you can find a decent nav unit for about $100 more and still retain the door. I'm not saying that the SNS is a bad unit but I've seen better. The one out of the LS460, now that's a bad *** unit.

actually if you use the original brackets that came with the car, the door still remains in place. but its a bom @ss system. i love it.
the route re-calculation is faster than my tom tom 910. the extras like calendar memos, n service invoice n stuff is very neat. honestly i love the scion navigation. it has reality view just like the navigon, it is really amazing.

not to be rude or anything and sorry for being off topic a bit, but the tom tom is imo the worse gps system out there. complex to use and annoys the hell out of me for not being user friendly. Now the garmin, magellan, harmon kardon or the pioneer unit are much easier to use and is quick at re-routes. I sell more of these units than the tom tom.
