2010 Scion Tc - Audio Help
Alright, I just recently bought a new Tc and LOVE it!!
The only thing that bummed me out, you can't get Sirius installed from the dealer. They only offer XM and the Sirius part was discontinued.
I've tried looking online, calling the dealer, Sirius and have had no success.
What part do I need? Is it simply the Toy-SC1 interface, or Universal Vehicle Tuner... or do I need the tuner and interface?
It's the Pioneer factory radio, that is SAT ready...
I just don't want a plug in play, I like controlling from the head unit, and don't want to fork out more money for an after market head unit when I just bought the car bc of all the steering wheel functions and such.
or would it be hard to install an after market and still control it from the steering wheel?
but any help would be great!!! Thanks!

They are, but not fully merged fully merged together. I called Sirius and they said I'd have to start an entire XM account by itself. So, I just need to know what part to put in my car. Tuner and interface, or just a tuner.

Aftermarket radio with steering wheel interface and Sirius tuner is the best way to go but there are many options available. That lower cubby fits an aux unit pretty dang well even though you'll still have to change the channels with it instead of the HU itself.

Not really. My brother has XM and it's horrible compared to the Sirius side. it seems no one knows what to put in the vehicle, dang.
So, I called crutchfield. They pretty much said if I do any after-market stereo...I'll lose my iPod/Aux plug up. Everybody is saying go "plug n play".
I just wish someone could tell me if I need an interface and tuner, or just the tuner.

You'll need the interface that matches the aftermarket deck (if you get one) and the tuner is universal in most cases. Almost all aftermarket decks have an I-Pod input or aux input anyway so you won't really be losing any features. You will however still need the steering wheel control interface if you decide to keep them.

see, I'm thinking if I just buy the discontinued Toyota Sirius interface and universal car tuner, that it will work with my car.
I'm guessing, I should proably look on XM's site and just see what they offer and match it with a sirius part haha

plug n play is just that.. plug it into the aux in, and play. Sure, you have to mount the antenna, then route the wiring up front, but the unit display is the tuner. A lot less trouble than trying all this other wiring. Unless ya like working more than you have to
