Default 6speakers Ideas...

Ok this might seem funny hehe...

I'll be receiving my tC in a week and I'm making plans to upgraade the sound system already ;p
Here's the questions:

1. Do 6.5'in spkrs (infinity kappa 225watt max)fit all around front n back or is a bracket required? If yes then front / back or both?
2. I've recently found a 6CH amp from audiobahn and am planning to cut out 2 holes on the back shelf of the tc and fit 2 6x9in spkrs (Infiniti kappa330watt max) as I've done this in my 240sx before because the speaker mounts were so small in it. Will run a 6ch amp through six spkrs total or 2amps for 6spkrs. Does anyone think the back speakers are a good idea?? Hoping for not too much rattle heh.
\

subs later on so don't comment on that please hehe

Comments/Ideas please
thnx

the back speakers you should use speaker baffles to make a back part since there will be no box ....just a speaker that you will be mounting to metal. You deff will want to dynomat the sides of the car. A lot of air leaks in there. I dont know the largest speaker that will fit but in the back ....larger then 6 3/4 will fit - u might be better off going w/ something ....maybe a 6x8 -- i dunno but hopefully someone else can comment. I put 6 3/4 because I didnt take the piece off to see what I was working with till after the fact.

oh man! learn how to use this thing more offten

now i would HIGHLY recommend not putting any rear speakers and leaving them STOCK! Since your putting components up front you wouldnt be able to hear the rears. i would really go with these...

eDi 6500s Components
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=29&cur=USD

powered with...
eD NiNe.2 Amplifier
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=24&cur=USD

you can also buy the front speaker baffels (brackets) for these speakers from this site.
i can pretty much gaurante that this setup will sound amazing! The person who sells these products owns a tC also and can probally hook you up. His S/N is "Mandos", great guy with awsome procuts!

when researching speakers or any type of audio, dont go by the MAX output, always go with the RMS output!

Unless you're going to put in a 5.1 surround system and video monitors, forget the rear speakers. For stereo, rear speakers are detrimental to your soundstage & imaging.

ok...

1) first off I did have 6spkrs before n they sounded amazing

2) I know what u mean by7 going by rms instead of max... however the 225max are 75rms and the 330max are 100rms so that's a plenty

3) i'm not convinced with the ED speakers/subs - some like em some don't... and I prefer infinitis way over the ED
j
4) No.... the search would not turn up the rear shelf speakers cutouts for 6x9 spkrs - NOTE! that I'm not talking about the normal speaker placing (that'll be 6.5 all around) it's the back shelf on which I want to cout out spaces for these speakers.
all of these amplified

5) The whole this is getting swaped just like in any car I've had hehe. So yes the HU is a must. So are the speakers... some subs.. yada yada

6) all I wanted was to ask what u think about the rear shelf addition of 6x9 speakers... so read my post before coming to any conclusions

7) did I mention I like it loud? ('')
Tongue

appreciate the input anyways lol...

what rear shelf are you talking about? you do know the tc is a hatchback and doesnt have a rear deck dont you? and why would you want a 6x9? they sound horrible, the only thing your liking from them is the bass. just buy a sub and a box (ahem, look in my sig) and ditch the rear speakers. Go with a really good set of comps up front and be done.

(whats w/ the posts people?) -- anyway - since he doesnt have the speakers already installed he doesnt know mucha bout the car ..... cant ya guys understand that?

Anyway - I would prob scrap the two 6x9's and use the other two channels on the amp for a sub. It is true that you cant hear the rear speakers while sitting in the front seat (much).

who said eD's weren't good? im not sure on what that "audiobahn" amp can push, cause your gonna be powering alot of speakers. You could probally be only getting around 30-50W to each?

But post pics when done......?

heh...

- I didn't say EDs weren't good - just prefer infinitis over them. (to each his own - eeh?)

- I know it's a hatch but the shelf raises up when u open the trunk ./ correct? - I'll show you what I mean when It's done

- I disagree with the fact that 6x9 are crap becauuse I used to have this kind of setup / powering the back shelf more than front.

My old setup was this :

front 6.5s back 6.5s and shelf 6.9s
all 4 of the 6.5s were amplified (100 watt to each - hence the infinitis-high RMS , high max) the back 6.9 were 125watt each (infinitis again) it sound great.

You aLSO SHOULDN'T ASSUME that if the driver is the only that should hear the back/front only - not true/// don't assume only 1 person is in the car heh (what about 4? ;p)

It souind great in my old 240sx so I'll go through with this and show you guys some photos in about 2 weeks eeeh?

I scrapped the idea of the audiobahn 6CH as theyre not reliable much.

So 4ch amp for 4 of 6.5s and 2ch amp for the 2 6.9s as well as something else for subs ...

i would like to see it - I have no doubt it will sound good. Personally - how about you do mids instead of the 6x9s? I think that would be nice also ...and might even provide more more funtion. - post whatever you decide you are gonna do w/ some follow up pictures.

thanks for letting me know. The cardboard will have to get re-inforced then lil plywood or something. as long as I make it heavy it shouldn't even rattle. Hmm... thanks!

im guessing this is the piece that your talking about?

BTW, if you do this setup and have the speakers mounted on this thing, ppl will see all the wires and speaker magnet when you open the hatch? IMHO, that will seriously not look good at all! im still not feeling this setup? I would be fine w/ (which im currently happy with mine) CDT comps up front powered w/ JL 300/2? But, its your car!

Oh and please post pics of this when finished!
